Hanoi Open 3x3 Basketball Tournament 2025 kicks off

This is an annual tournament jointly organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and the Hanoi Basketball Federation (BFH). The event is held outdoors, promising to bring explosive moments of emotion to basketball fans in the capital.

In his opening speech, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Pham Xuan Tai said that the 2025 Hanoi Open 3x3 Basketball Tournament is a practical activity to celebrate the 135th anniversary of the birth of the great President Ho Chi Minh , with the ideological foundation of the whole people exercising following the example of the great Uncle Ho, especially the tournament is a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Mr. Pham Xuan Tai emphasized that basketball is a sport that has a great influence on the community, especially the youth. In recent times, the basketball movement in Hanoi has developed strongly in terms of scale and quality. Basketball in schools has exploded. The number of basketball clubs is also increasing. Currently, in Hanoi, there are 50 member clubs under the Hanoi Basketball Federation, with more than 2,000 members and over 11,000 people regularly practicing.

The Hanoi Basketball Team has grown remarkably, confirmed at the recent National Basketball Championship. The above achievements have contributed significantly to the grassroots Basketball tournaments, especially the more open Hanoi Basketball Tournament.

This year's tournament attracted nearly 170 athletes from 43 clubs in provinces and cities across the country. The growth of the tournament is a driving force to continue promoting the Basketball movement in the community, an opportunity for athletes to improve their skills, contributing to the development of resources for amateur and professional teams and clubs. Talented and qualified athletes from the tournament will be a quality resource for the Hanoi Basketball team to participate in national and international tournaments.

The tournament takes place continuously over 2 weekends: May 17 and 18 with more than 60 matches in 4 groups: Pro Men, Pro Women, U18 Men, U16 Men, the tournament promises to bring an explosive weekend at Tran Nhan Tong walking street.
