According to Dr. Le Anh Duc, Head of the Training Management Department at the National Economics University, based on the minimum admission scores, equivalent conversion tables, and information lookup platforms, candidates who have registered their applications on the university's admissions system can check the admission scores for each method to make the most informed choice.
Dr. Duc noted that candidates applying for admission to the National Economics University through the combined admission method will only be considered if they meet two conditions: they have submitted their application on the university's system between June 11th and July 11th and their application meets the requirements; and they must register their preferences on the Ministry of Education and Training 's system.
Regarding admissions to the National Economics University, Dr. Vu Van Ngoc, Director of the Institute for Advanced and High-Quality Training and POHE, shared that this year, the university is recruiting students through four training methods: standard program, advanced program, high-quality program, and POHE (in previous years, admitted students only took an entrance exam to choose their training system). Therefore, candidates need to pay attention when registering their preferences. Each training method has different tuition fees and admission scores. If candidates are interested in a particular major, they should consider their own circumstances (scores, finances) when making their choice during registration.
Mr. Ngoc gave an example: a candidate interested in Finance and Banking can register for the standard program, or register for the TT2 advanced finance program, or register for the CLC3 high-quality corporate finance or high-quality banking and finance program. According to Mr. Ngoc, when a candidate is interested in a particular field, they should choose that field with the most suitable training method first, then consider the other methods; this will increase their chances of admission.
"Don't put all your eggs in one basket" is the advice Mr. Ngoc gives to candidates registering their preferences this year. Each admission code and method has a different cutoff score. Admission codes with larger quotas offer a higher chance of being accepted.
The Admissions and Career Guidance Board of Hanoi University of Science and Technology also notes for candidates: Among the 65 majors/training programs of the University, some majors require candidates to meet English language requirements when registering their preferences. For programs taught entirely in English, FL1 (English for Science and Technology), FL3 (Chinese for Science and Technology), in addition to the admission score requirements, candidates need to meet one of the following conditions: a VSTEP English certificate (a certificate issued by Vietnamese universities that meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Training) at level B1 or higher; an IELTS (academic) certificate with a score of 5.0 or higher or equivalent; or a score of 6.5 or higher in the English subject of the 2025 high school graduation exam.
For international programs, applicants must meet one of two conditions: a VSTEP English certificate at level B2 or higher; or an IELTS (academic) certificate with a score of 5.5 or higher, or an equivalent. For these programs, the Admissions Committee believes that if applicants do not meet the language requirements but still register, their application will be considered invalid.
Fierce competition in the C00 complex.
Although only the minimum admission scores have been announced, the conversion tables from various universities show that the C00 combination (Literature, History, Geography) is currently dominating the list of top choices for university entrance exams.
Hanoi Medical University has set the cutoff score for the B00 combination (Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology) 5 points lower than the C00 combination. The Banking Academy uses 8 combinations for admission, including 2 combinations in block C (C00 and C03 (Mathematics, Literature, History)). The cutoff score for block C will be 2.5 points higher than the other blocks.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) stipulates a maximum score difference of 3.5 points between C00 and D01 (Mathematics, Literature, English), while most other majors have a score difference between these two combinations ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 points.
Hanoi Law University determined that the A00 combination (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) was 1.39 points higher and the C00 combination was 3.24 points higher than the D01 combination. The C00 combination was 3 points higher than other combinations at the Diplomatic Academy. The Border Guard Academy determined the original combination to be C00. The difference in admission scores for the combinations compared to the C00 combination is as follows: A01 combination decreased by 3.39 points compared to C00; C01 and D01 combinations decreased by 2.26 points, and C03 decreased by 1.13 points.
It can be seen that the cutoff score for the C00 combination this year will be the highest among all combinations offered for admission at a university.

Don't wait until the last minute to register.
Dr. Tran Van Thac, Head of the Training Management Department at the Water Resources University, affirmed: This year, university admissions vary considerably and there are no specific principles. Universities must develop methods for converting scores between different admission methods, so candidates should remain calm and confident in their achieved exam scores to choose a major that suits their abilities and interests. Dr. Thac advised candidates to choose a major first, then choose a university.
Experts advise candidates to divide their preferences into three groups: those higher than their abilities; those that are feasible (previous years' cutoff scores are equivalent to the candidate's abilities); and those that are safe (the candidate's abilities are higher than previous years' cutoff scores). Candidates should not wait until the last minute to register or adjust their preferences. In reality, many cases have occurred where candidates missed opportunities due to system errors or network problems, resulting in the registration portal closing after the deadline.
"Don't put all your eggs in one basket" is the advice Mr. Ngoc gives to candidates registering their preferences this year. Each admission code and method has a different cutoff score. Admission codes with larger quotas offer a higher chance of being accepted.
Experts also advise candidates to carefully review their registered preferences and the data updated on the system. This helps students avoid "what if" situations later. Candidates should place their most desired major at the top of their list. Note that it's important to avoid relying on information from unofficial sources, as this can lead to inappropriate adjustments. They can also research financial aid options offered by universities. Candidates should use a computer for this process, as mobile phones may not display all the necessary information and are prone to errors.
This year, the minimum admission scores for most universities have decreased compared to last year. This has led many candidates to believe that the lower minimum scores will also lead to lower cut-off scores. However, for popular majors that attract many applicants, the cut-off scores may still remain high. Candidates should be cautious when registering and avoid submitting too few applications. Therefore, candidates can compare the minimum and cut-off scores over the past few years for each major/university to determine their chances of admission.
