+ Basically, the admission method and admission plan for grade 10 of high school for the 2023-2024 school year proposed by the Department of Education and Training and approved by the Provincial People's Committee will remain stable as in the previous school year. The adjusted contents are all related to specialized schools (Ha Long Specialized High School, Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Tien Yen Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities), aiming to improve the quality of admission and to comply with the new Regulations on organization and operation of specialized schools issued by the Ministry of Education and Training , effective from the 2023-2024 school year.
That is to adjust the enrollment area of the two boarding schools above to match the content on the area specified in Circular No. 04/2023/TT-BGDDT. In addition, no preliminary round will be held for candidates applying to Ha Long Specialized High School, because Circular No. 05/2023/TT-BGDDT does not stipulate this content; adjust the time for the Chemistry specialized subject exam to 150 minutes (previously 120 minutes); adjust the ratio of enrollment quota for students taking the Informatics specialized subject exam to the Informatics specialized class to no more than 1/2 of the Informatics specialized class quota (previously no more than 1/3); reduce the number of non-specialized classes of Ha Long Specialized High School from 3 classes to 2 classes; increase 1 English specialized class.
Another new point related to the abolition of paper household registration books according to the provisions of the 2020 Law on Residence, the Department of Education and Training has assigned secondary schools to be responsible for confirming residence information for students as proof of preferential treatment and determining admission targets.

+ Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee on promoting digital transformation, from the 2022-2023 school year admission period, the Department of Education and Training has organized for students to register for grade 10 admission online on the admission management system, creating convenience for candidates and parents to save time and money, which is highly appreciated by parents and people. This year's admission period, the registration for admission is kept stable as last year.
According to the guidance of the Department of Education and Training in Official Dispatch No. 968/SGDĐT-GDPT dated April 26, 2023, the online registration period for public high schools is 5 days (from May 6-10, 2023), during this period, the registration has been completed with 15,403 applications. The online registration period for private schools is 12 days (from July 20-31, 2023), with an expected number of about 8,000 students registering. In fact, students can register for private schools from June 22, 2023 after the Department of Education and Training announces the admission scores for public schools.

+ In order to organize the entrance exam seriously, honestly, objectively, fairly, safely and with quality, the Department of Education and Training has promptly directed educational institutions to develop plans to prepare personnel, facilities, means, equipment for the exam and necessary conditions for organizing the exam according to regulations. In particular, it focuses on providing accurate, complete and timely regulations and necessary information about the exam; selecting and assigning a team of cadres and teachers with sufficient moral qualities, professional capacity, exam organization skills, and a high sense of responsibility; organizing inspections and reviews of facilities, means, and equipment, ensuring that exam locations meet the prescribed conditions.
Special attention is paid to the coordination with departments, branches, sectors and localities to develop plans and implement security and order measures, and arrange sufficient forces to ensure absolute safety for examination areas and examination activities. On the other hand, there are measures to support candidates, especially those from ethnic minorities, the disabled, those from policy families, poor households, and those in remote areas and islands; absolutely no candidate must miss the exam or arrive late to the examination site due to economic difficulties, travel difficulties or other objective obstacles.
