Based on the rich tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Thang Long - Hanoi , combined with the folk cultural values of the Northern Delta, the Mid-Autumn Festival activities in 2025 have been connected and creatively presented by artists, artisans, and designers within heritage spaces.

This is a key factor that will help ensure that the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival activities and events in 2025 in the Old Quarter, the Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian area, and the Phung Hung Street Mural Space both preserve traditional cultural elements and embrace contemporary trends.

The historical sites in the Old Quarter, the Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian area, and the Phung Hung Street Mural Space have become open spaces offering a wide variety of rich and diverse experiential activities.

Through this initiative, the organizers hope to contribute to promoting heritage education in the capital city, raising awareness of conservation, promoting traditional cultural values, developing a creative educational ecosystem in the community, and fostering a generation of citizens who understand cultural heritage and are creative based on that foundation.

To kick off the series of Mid-Autumn Festival cultural activities, on the afternoon of September 25th, the opening ceremony of the 2025 traditional Mid-Autumn Festival cultural activities took place at the Cultural and Arts Center, 22 Hang Buom Street.

Here, the organizers recreated a space showcasing traditional Mid-Autumn Festival toys. Our ancestors believed that games and toys were not simply for entertainment, but also tools for education, nurturing the souls of children.

Traditional Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival toys such as paper doctor figures, stick-wielding figures, papier-mâché masks, star-shaped lanterns, and dough figurines... are messages and wishes from our ancestors to the younger generation about the spirit of learning, encouraging learning and creativity.

On this occasion, the Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board, in collaboration with artisans and craftspeople from neighboring craft villages, introduced and demonstrated how to make traditional toys.

Drawing inspiration from folklore such as fairy tales, the Moon Goddess, the Cowherd, and images of beautiful women, the One Pillar Pagoda, and the Khue Van Pavilion, artist Nguyen Manh Duc, through artistic creation and the arrangement of light using a system of colorful lamps and shadows, has transformed these elements into a Mid-Autumn Festival space where traditional values are preserved and renewed.

The organizers also collaborated with artist Nguyen Ky - Nguec Ngoac Art Workshop to introduce some art products created from recycled materials to encourage creativity among children.

From September 25th to October 6th, the Phung Hung Street Mural Space will host a Mid-Autumn Festival themed event called "The Fairy Tale Moon Season".

At Kim Ngan Temple, located at 42-44 Hang Bac Street, there will be decorations and arrangements for the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival with the theme "Our Moon" - introducing the project to reconstruct an ancient lion head by researcher Kevin Vuong.

In addition, these locations will host engaging seminars and exchange activities: a seminar titled "Introducing the 'Moon Festival Project - Recreating Traditional Lion Heads and Applying Heritage in Contemporary Life'"; a children's fashion show by the Hanoi Fashion Design Association; a lantern procession program "Mid-Autumn Festival Night"; workshops on making Mid-Autumn toys; workshops on making traditional lion heads, etc.
