On the evening of September 1, on Lieu Giai and Van Cao streets, crowds of people poured in to watch the parade celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2.
According to VTC News, the closer to the parade departure time, the higher the service prices. Plastic chairs that normally cost only a few tens of thousands of VND are now being charged up to 60,000 VND each. Even ladder rental services have become the top choice for many families who want a good view. A 5-step ladder is priced at 300,000 VND for a few hours, with a deposit required in advance to reserve a spot.
Despite the high rental price, many people still agreed to pay. "We arrived late so the low seats were all taken. Even though the price to rent the ladder was up to several hundred thousand dong, I still decided to rent it so I could see the parade clearly. This is a special occasion, my family did not want to miss it," said a spectator there.
"The price is higher than buying a new ladder, but if we don't rent one, the whole group will have to stand and jostle. For us, the important thing is to be able to witness the solemn atmosphere of the country with our own eyes," said Ms. Van, in Hanoi .
Ms. Le Thi Thung (born in 1939) expressed her excitement when witnessing the country becoming more and more decent, rich and beautiful, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers. She feels lucky because she can still enjoy the fruits of the revolution and the freedom that her ancestors sacrificed to regain.
Recalling the parades in 1975 and 1985, she said that although they were grand, they were still difficult and not as crowded and bustling as they are now. After 40 years, she was moved by the remarkable development in economy , technology and the patriotism of the people. She reminded the younger generation to remember Uncle Ho's words: "The Hung Kings had the merit of building the country, we must work together to protect the country."
The celebration, parade and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day will be solemnly held at the historic Ba Dinh Square on the morning of September 2.
The program began at 6:30 with the torch relay, followed by the flag salute, introduction of delegates and speeches by Party and State leaders. From 7:45, the parades and marches started with the participation of armed forces, the masses and international guests.
The program will end with an art performance from 9:45 to 10:00. In addition to the ceremony, Hanoi will also organize fireworks displays on the evening of September 2 at 5 locations: Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Van Quan Lake and My Dinh Stadium.
