At exactly 6:30 a.m., the traditional torch-lighting ceremony and the lighting of the pyre began, opening the Celebration.

The flame was lit on the pyre - a symbol of the aspirations of the Vietnamese people - by Lieutenant General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Duc Soat, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, who had an exceptionally outstanding achievement of shooting down 6 enemy planes, becoming one of the heroic pilots of the Vietnam People's Army.

Next was the solemn flag-saluting ceremony and introduction of delegates to the Celebration.

Opening the parade were the heroic Vietnam People's Air Force squadrons flying over the capital's sky.

Leading the way was a squadron of Mi-171, Mi-17, Mi-8 helicopters, carrying the Party flag and the national flag flying over the historic Ba Dinh Square. A symbol of great solidarity, the pride of the Party and the nation, demonstrating the mettle, intelligence, and aspiration to build the country to take off and soar in the new era.

The Casa C-295 and C212i transport aircraft formations were responsible for combat coordination, reconnaissance, transportation, and search and rescue; the modern Yak-130 and L-39NG aircraft performed training, reconnaissance, and attack missions to destroy targets in the air, on land, and at sea; the modern Su-30MK2 supersonic multi-role fighter took turns performing demonstration flights.

At the same time, at Cam Ranh Military Base, Khanh Hoa province, armed forces also held a parade at sea.

The formation of forces participating in the sea parade includes: Command ships; maritime patrol aircraft, anti-submarine helicopters; submarine squadrons, missile frigates, anti-submarine frigates, fast attack missile boats, and gunboats of the Vietnam People's Navy; squadrons of ships of the Vietnam Coast Guard; Border Guards and Standing Militia Squadron, along with many other modern means and equipment.

The opening ceremony was a ceremonial block including a model car of the National Emblem, a block of National Flags - Party Flags, a car carrying a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh and a model car symbolizing the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Next were 22 walking blocks of the Vietnam People's Army, led by the command vehicle and the Army Flag Group vehicle. The Flag Group commanded by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, led the blocks representing the heroic Vietnam People's Army and the Militia and Self-Defense Force.

Attending the military parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) were 4 military blocs from China, the Russian Federation, Laos and Cambodia.

The Vietnam People's Public Security forces were led by the command vehicle led by Major General Le Van Sao, Deputy Commander of the Mobile Police, Ministry of Public Security. Following was the flag-bearing Police Group - the glorious flag for security with noble awards bestowed by the Party and State.

Born during the height of the August Revolution in 1945, founded, educated, trained by the Party and Uncle Ho, and wholeheartedly trusted and supported by the people; the People's Public Security force has been intelligent and courageous in smashing all plots and activities of hostile and reactionary forces and all types of criminals, contributing to the construction and solid protection of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
