President Luong Cuong receives Chairman of the National People's Congress of China

On the afternoon of September 1, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong received Comrade Trieu Lac Te, member of the Politburo Standing Committee, Chairman of the National People's Congress of China, who is on an official visit to Vietnam, attending the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, and co-chairing the first meeting of the Cooperation Committee between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China.

At the reception, President Luong Cuong expressed his gratitude to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China for sending Comrade Trieu Lac Te to lead a high-ranking delegation of the Party and State of China to Vietnam to attend the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. The President respectfully sent his best wishes to General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and other key Chinese leaders.

Congratulating China on its achievements in national development, President Liang Qiang emphasized that as a “good neighbor, good friend, good comrade, good partner” of China, Vietnam believes that the Party, State and People of China will successfully implement the goals of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, complete on time the goal of “the second centenary”, and make China a modern, prosperous, civilized, harmonious and beautiful socialist power, making increasingly greater contributions to peace , cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Chairman Trieu Lac Te expressed his honor to be sent by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, directly by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, to visit and attend the great anniversary of Vietnam; congratulated the Party, State and People of Vietnam on their great victory in the struggle for national liberation and reunification and their historical achievements in the development process, firmly moving forward on the path to socialism in accordance with the situation in Vietnam. Comrade Trieu Lac Te wished the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam a success, opening a new era for the Vietnamese nation.

Emphasizing the importance of the Vietnam-China relationship in the overall foreign policy of each country, President Luong Cuong and Chairman Trieu Lac Te agreed that the friendly relations and close affection between the two Parties and countries are being increasingly consolidated and strengthened; key leaders of the two Parties and countries regularly meet, exchange strategies and have reached a common understanding on building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future with strategic significance in the direction of "6 more".

The two sides highly appreciated the results of the First Session of the Cooperation Committee between the two legislative bodies, saying that the success of the Session was a new milestone in the development of cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Chinese National People's Congress, making an important contribution to the development of relations between the two Parties and the two countries.

The President suggested that both sides strengthen solidarity and coordinate to implement high-level agreements reached between the two parties and two countries. The President hoped that both sides would continue to consolidate the good political foundation that the two parties and two countries have worked hard to build; including effectively implementing high-level delegation exchanges between the two countries; further enhancing substantive cooperation in defense - security - foreign affairs; closely coordinating to successfully organize the first meeting of the dialogue mechanism at the level of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs - Defense - Public Security; continuing to further promote the role of the legislative bodies of the two countries in building a legal corridor and open policies, facilitating cooperation in all fields, especially for key cooperation projects, symbolic in the Vietnam - China relationship such as 3 projects to build standard gauge railways connecting the two countries. The President also suggested that the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Chinese National People's Congress increase the exchange of experiences in legislative and supervisory work and the implementation of professional tasks.

Regarding the East Sea issue, the President hopes that both sides will properly handle disagreements, maintain a peaceful and stable environment, and not let it affect the relationship between the two Parties and two countries.

Chairman Zhao Leji affirmed that China is willing to strengthen high-level and all-level contacts with Vietnam, continuously consolidate political trust, enhance substantive cooperation, and strengthen the friendship between the two peoples. As the supreme legislative body, the National People's Congress of China will coordinate and facilitate relevant agencies to promote strategic connectivity, transport infrastructure, trade, and investment, bringing practical benefits to the two countries; continue to closely coordinate with the National Assembly of Vietnam to effectively implement the high-level consensus, concretize the results of the First Session, continue to deepen friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between the two legislative bodies, contributing to promoting the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future with strategic significance to continuously develop more deeply and substantially in the coming time.
