On September 2, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had meetings with Chairman of the Chinese National People's Congress Zhao Leji, President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen and First Secretary and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel.

Give top priority to railway cooperation

On September 2, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Mr. Zhao Leji - Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China - on the occasion of his official visit to Vietnam, attending the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam's National Day on September 2.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated Mr. Zhao Leji leading a high-ranking Chinese delegation to attend the 80th anniversary celebration of Vietnam and sending military personnel to participate in the parade, demonstrating the special affection and high respect of the Chinese Party and State for the Vietnam-China relationship, as well as Vietnam's revolutionary cause.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated China on successfully organizing the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit; expressed his thanks and sent regards to General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning for their thoughtful reception of the Vietnamese delegation.

Party Chief Trieu Lac Te congratulated Vietnam on successfully organizing the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. He expressed his deep impression of General Secretary To Lam's speech at the ceremony; emphasizing that China always considers relations with Vietnam a priority in its neighborly diplomacy.

Emphasizing the important role of the two countries' legislative bodies, the Prime Minister hoped that Mr. Zhao Leji and the National People's Congress of China would closely coordinate with the Vietnamese National Assembly in building a legal corridor and open policies, creating favorable conditions for promoting substantive cooperation.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister suggested that the two sides regularly maintain and improve the effectiveness of the activities of intergovernmental working groups between the two countries; and promote cooperation between key sectors of diplomacy, defense, and public security.

The Prime Minister hopes that the National People's Congress of China will support and urge relevant agencies to continue giving top priority to railway cooperation, providing preferential loans, supporting human resource training and technology transfer to Vietnam, and striving to start construction of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong route in 2025.

The Prime Minister proposed that China expand the import of Vietnamese goods; increase the capacity and output of electricity imported from China; accelerate the construction of smart border gates, and soon determine a pilot model for building a cross-border economic cooperation zone;...

Mr. Trieu Lac Te affirmed that China is ready to deepen practical cooperation with Vietnam, further open the market for high-quality goods from Vietnam; propose that the two sides strengthen strategic connectivity, especially in infrastructure and transportation, and make good and solid preparations for the construction of railway lines connecting the two countries; agree with Vietnam to promptly organize the First Meeting of the Joint Committee for Railway Cooperation between the two countries; and encourage Chinese enterprises to expand high-quality investment in Vietnam.

In an atmosphere of sincerity, frankness and trust, the two sides agreed to continue to effectively implement high-level common perceptions, better control and resolve disagreements, share and understand each other, and jointly maintain a peaceful and stable environment to facilitate the development of each country.

Mr. Hun Sen believes that Vietnam will develop steadily.

On the morning of September 2, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen, on the occasion of a high-ranking Cambodian delegation visiting Vietnam to attend the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam always treasures the traditional solidarity, friendship and mutual assistance between Vietnam and Cambodia and Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos during the past struggles for national liberation, as well as in the cause of national construction and development today.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and gives high priority to consolidating and developing the good neighborly relationship, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability with Cambodia.

The presence of high-ranking delegations from Cambodia and Laos, and armed forces of the two countries marching and parading together at the historic Ba Dinh Square, is a great encouragement and support for Vietnam.

Mr. Hun Sen expressed his joy and honor to attend the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. He believes that Vietnam will develop steadily, becoming a developing country with modern industry and high middle income by 2030 and a developed country with high income by 2045.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister asked President Hun Sen to pay attention to and support the two countries' governments to coordinate well in organizing cooperation mechanisms, creating favorable conditions for businesses, creating conditions to increase the export of cement, steel, and construction materials from Vietnam to Cambodia, and strengthening transportation connectivity.

At the same time, actively discuss and negotiate to resolve the work of demarcation and marker planting on the land border; create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to feel secure, stabilize their lives, and actively contribute to the prosperous development of Cambodia and the friendly relations between the two countries.

On the afternoon of September 2, within the framework of his State visit to Vietnam and participation in activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and Vietnam's National Day, at the Government headquarters, First Secretary and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always treasures and preserves the special friendship. Vietnam always closely follows the situation in Cuba and shares the difficulties and challenges Cuba is facing.

Mr. Miguel Diaz Canel affirmed Cuba's desire to strengthen the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, as well as share experiences gained in Vietnam's renovation process and update Cuba's socio-economic model.

He thanked the Vietnamese Government and people for their valuable support and assistance in helping Cuba overcome difficulties caused by the embargo and the complex international context.

The Cuban President also appreciated the activities of Vietnamese enterprises in Cuba for Cuba's socio-economic development, and to strengthen bilateral economic relations in a substantive manner, taking advantage of the complementary strengths of the two countries.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will continue to implement measures to support Cuba in a practical and specific manner, especially agricultural projects following the business model to support food security in Cuba, as well as other important fields of energy and biotechnology.

The two leaders agreed to regularly deploy and improve the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation mechanisms; continue to support, prioritize creating favorable conditions and encourage the expansion of participation of organizations and businesses of the two countries in the socio-economic development process of each country; focus on promoting economic, trade and investment cooperation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully conveyed his regards to revolutionary leader Raul Castro and senior leaders of the Cuban Party and State and invited Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marero Cruz to return to visit Vietnam at a suitable time.
