Leaders from the Department of Agriculture and Environment and WWF visited a shrimp farming model in Chau Dien hamlet (Long Dien Dong A commune, Dong Hai district).
This model is part of the project "Strengthening the Climate Change Resilience of Agricultural Ecosystems and Local Communities in the Coastal Area of Bac Lieu Province". The model was implemented on 20 hectares belonging to 18 households in hamlets 3, 4, Chau Dien, and My Dien in Long Dien Dong A commune. After two farming seasons applying the project's procedures, shrimp losses were minimal and shrimp growth was good. According to participating households, shrimp productivity increased, profits rose, and people's livelihoods improved.
Currently, farmers participating in the model are provided with rice seeds. After harvesting the shrimp crop, they will renovate the ponds and plant rice on the shrimp land…
