On July 22nd, Colonel Diep Van The, Deputy Director of the Kien Giang Provincial Police, stated that from the beginning of 2023 until now, police forces at all levels, in coordination with departments, agencies, and organizations, have effectively implemented six intensive campaigns to attack and suppress various types of crimes, maintain social order and safety, and protect the safety of events in the province.

Specifically, local police forces have vigorously combated and suppressed organized crime gangs, dismantling 11 gangs and arresting and prosecuting 87 individuals, mostly in Phu Quoc City.
Regarding security and order, 353 out of 400 cases were investigated and solved , resulting in the arrest and prosecution of 673 offenders; of which, 53 out of 53 very serious and especially serious cases were solved, with 84 offenders arrested, achieving a 100% success rate.
In addition, the police force also dismantled 180 locations and hotspots of social vices, dealt with 1,132 individuals; deterred, reformed, and educated 2,440 individuals; arrested, persuaded to surrender, and removed 60 wanted individuals from the wanted list, including one who had been on the run for 14 years.
Authorities throughout the province have also detected and dismantled 168 cases, arresting 230 individuals involved in the illegal buying, selling, storing, transporting, and organizing the use of narcotics. They seized 1,190 cannabis plants, 1,361.86 grams of synthetic drugs, 4 military firearms, and 34 bullets. 294 individuals were sent to drug rehabilitation centers, and 173 individuals were given administrative penalties for drug-related violations.
