At the meeting, delegates of the Delegation of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City (the Delegation) watched a traditional film about the process of building, fighting, growing and developing the Naval Region 5 Command; listened to an introduction of some main features of the Southwest sea area and the outstanding achievements and results of the Naval Region 5 Command in carrying out assigned political tasks.

Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Luong Quoc Anh expressed his joy at welcoming the delegation to visit the unit. According to Colonel Luong Quoc Anh: The delegation's "Journey to the sea and islands of the homeland" is a practical activity, helping overseas Vietnamese better understand the sea and islands of the homeland as well as the living, working, studying and working conditions of officers and soldiers of the Naval Region 5 Command and the unit's mission of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

From June 25 to 29, the Ho Chi Minh City Committee for Overseas Vietnamese organized a delegation of overseas Vietnamese to visit officers and soldiers of Naval Region 5. The working trip had the theme "Journey of overseas Vietnamese returning to the homeland's islands". 38 delegates representing intellectuals, businessmen, cultural - social charity organizations, and outstanding overseas Vietnamese associations participated in this trip. The 5-day journey of the Delegation has many practical and meaningful contents. The Delegation will participate in activities of offering flowers and incense at the monument and memorial house of President Ho Chi Minh, visiting the Phu Quoc Prison Martyrs Memorial, visiting officers and soldiers and presenting works to Brigade 127, Regiment 551, Battalion 563, Radar Station 620 and visiting Navy ships. Overseas Vietnamese delegates also participated in gratitude work, visited, encouraged and gave meaningful gifts to former political prisoners, and took care of children of soldiers (Region 5 Nursery) under the Naval Region 5 Command. |
