Kim Long Motor and LG Energy Solution collaborate on battery supply.

The project is expected to become operational in early 2026, covering an area of 9 hectares with a total investment of VND 1,200 billion, located within the Kim Long Motor Industrial Park in Hue . The Kim Long Motor factory will operate comprehensively, including stamping, assembly, welding, and packaging (battery packs). This will be one of the leading modern battery pack manufacturing and assembly complexes in Vietnam, built to international standards, applying advanced technology with an automation rate of up to 90%.

Kim Long Motor Hue and LG Energy Solution have officially partnered to manufacture and assemble advanced battery packs in Vietnam.

In its initial phase, the plant is expected to have a capacity of 1 million kWh/year and will continue to expand in subsequent years. The operation of the plant will not only ensure a supply of high-quality batteries for Kim Long Motor 's electric vehicles, but also create a platform for Vietnam to assert its position in the global value chain of the battery and electric vehicle industry – a strategic sector shaping the future of green transportation and the circular economy worldwide.

Mr. Ho Cong Hai, General Director of Kim Long Motor, shared: “We consider the battery to be the 'heart' of electric vehicles, and mastering core technology in battery production and assembly is key to ensuring sustainable development in the future. Cooperation with LG Energy Solution – a leading global lithium-ion battery manufacturer – will help the company proactively secure supply, optimize costs, and control quality. This is a crucial factor in shaping and strongly developing high-quality "Made in Vietnam" electric vehicles in the future. When operational, Kim Long Motor 's battery production and assembly plant will help achieve the goal of over 80% localization by Q2/2026, while also contributing to affirming Vietnam's position on the global and regional clean energy map.”
