XR Project Moohan is Samsung's first Android XR VR headset, co-produced with Google, and has no official name yet. It runs on the brand new Android XR platform, integrates multi-modal AI, and promises the most advanced augmented reality capabilities.
Samsung's VR headset has a ski-goggle design reminiscent of Apple's Vision Pro, but with elements closer to Google's older Daydream View VR accessory. Unlike the Vision Pro, there's no indication that the Korean tech giant plans to deploy the EyeSight display externally.
XR Project Moohan's hardware has been confirmed to include Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2 Plus Gen 2 processor, currently Qualcomm's most powerful VR chip. The chipset promises ultra-low latency, down to 12ms, for more natural-feeling interactions.
Regarding the interface, performance as well as the tools that XR Project Moohan will bring, it may appear when Samsung allows to experience this new product right at the MWC 2025 event, from which we will have more detailed reviews and comparisons.
It's uncertain whether Samsung will reveal details about the XR Project Moohan's price and release date at MWC 2025. If it does, it will be one of the biggest surprises of the event.
However, it is confirmed that MWC 2025 attendees will be able to try out the Project Moohan XR headset at the show, meaning more details are likely to emerge in the coming days.
