Timely announcement of construction price index to manage investment costs

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document assigning the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to proactively research and implement the announcement of construction price indexes to serve the management of construction investment costs, adjust construction contract prices of projects and works in the province according to its authority, ensuring the contents follow the instructions and recommendations of the Ministry of Construction.

The official dispatch of the Ministry of Construction requests that provinces and centrally-run cities, based on regulations on implementation of announcement or direction, decentralization, authorization for specialized agencies to organize the determination and announcement of construction price indexes to ensure correctness and completeness according to regulations (on announcement time, announcement frequency, construction price index types, etc.), review the list and values ​​of announced price indexes to ensure that they closely reflect the actual level of construction price fluctuations over time; send the decision and appendices attached to the decision on announcement of construction price indexes to the Ministry of Construction for monitoring and full management of data.

The Ministry of Construction noted that it is necessary to focus on supplementing the list of construction price indexes by type of construction and cost factors for railway projects and works associated with specific conditions and management objectives of each locality, which may include: urban railways, national railways (such as bridges, culverts, tunnels, stations, signal information systems, etc.) to serve the management of construction investment costs and construction contract management in the coming time.
