
At Studio S1, the Military Broadcasting and Television Center organized a special art program "Half a Century of Soaring on the Waves" to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Army Television (September 20, 1975 - September 20, 2025).
Attending and giving a directive speech was General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, and Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army; also present were Comrade Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association ; Comrade Le Hai Binh, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Comrade Le Quyen, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television; and Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung, Deputy Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army.

Over 50 years of formation and development, from the People's Army Television Department under the Propaganda Department, General Political Department, to the present day, the Army Radio and Television Center has become a leading, multi-media, and modern press agency of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense .
From 100 minutes of weekly broadcast on Vietnam Television to the Vietnam National Defense Television Channel broadcasting 24/7, with over 10 hours of new broadcasts each day, nearly 50 programs, and 13 daily news bulletins in three languages: Vietnamese, English, and Chinese.
From simple black-and-white footage to modern television, affirming its position as an essential national television channel with useful information, Vietnam National Defense Television defines its content as oriented towards differentiation. All information, from military and defense to culture, entertainment, and economics, is presented through the lens, perspective, and pen of journalists in military uniform.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Trinh Van Quyet acknowledged and praised the important contributions of generations of officers, reporters, and editors of the People's Army Television over the past 50 years. The programs of the People's Army Television have continuously innovated, deeply reflecting the lives, battles, studies, and work of officers and soldiers throughout the army, contributing to spreading the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the hearts of the people.


General Trinh Van Quyet emphasized that, in the context of rapidly developing media, the Center needs to continue innovating its content and methods of presentation, mastering modern technology, and deserving to be the leading and reliable press agency of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense.


At the program, outstanding artistic performances such as "Orders from the Heart," "The Mark of Maturity," and "The Song of Vietnam's National Defense Television" vividly recreated the 50-year journey of formation and development from the People's Army Television to the modern Vietnam National Defense Television channel today.
Embarking on a new journey with aspirations for greater achievements, Vietnam National Defense Television continues to affirm its position as the voice of the modern-day soldier, a bridge connecting the Army with the people, and writing the next glorious chapter in the history of Vietnam's national defense.
