Early in the morning, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Nhi (An Dong Ward, Thuan Hoa District) was present at the Driving Test Center, Hue College to take the car driving test. Unlike previous times, this time the test was organized by the Traffic Police Department, so she could not help but feel a little nervous and confused.

“I registered for the driving test at the end of 2024. Due to the long waiting time, I was quite worried about taking the theory and simulation tests. However, thanks to the enthusiastic guidance and support of the traffic police officers and soldiers, I was confident in completing the test well,” said Nhi.

Mr. Nguyen Nhat Duat (student of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy) shared that he was very excited to participate in the car driving test after a period of interruption due to the transfer of testing tasks to the traffic police force. Although it was the first test, the preparation work, exam schedule arrangement, etc. were all carried out methodically and scientifically by the traffic police force. From there, all favorable conditions were created to help people feel more secure when participating in the test.

According to the reporter's records on May 6, the first car driving test in 2025 organized by the Traffic Police Department of Hue City Police took place transparently, systematically, ensuring correct and complete procedures and regulations for the test. Candidates participating in the test had their records checked by officers of the Traffic Police Department; then they took the following tests: Theory, simulation, driving in pictures and driving on the road. Candidates who did not pass any part of the test will be registered to retake the test; the results of the passed contents will be retained for 1 year.

Respond to people's needs

According to information from Hue City Police, based on the directives of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction), the City Police and the City Department of Transport (now the Department of Construction) have coordinated smoothly and carefully prepared the necessary conditions to hand over and receive the task of testing and issuing driving licenses to ensure smoothness, without interruption, affecting the needs of the people.

To immediately implement the newly received work contents, since the beginning of March, the City Police have arranged staff to receive applications for issuing and renewing driver's licenses for people at the City Public Administration Service Center. After that, they will receive and renew driver's licenses at 10 points under the commune-level police, which are administrative centers of the district-level area.

With the task of organizing driving tests, Hue City Police has organized training courses and issued examiner cards to many leaders, commanders, officers and soldiers. Training includes: Thoroughly grasping and implementing a number of specialized professional topics, procedures for organizing and testing for driver's licenses; related legal documents; the application of technology and management software in training, testing and issuing driver's licenses... In addition, officers and soldiers are also instructed on a number of examination tasks, examination procedures for drivers of all classes, and practical driving skills of all types.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Lien Son, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Hue City Police, said that in order to effectively carry out the task of organizing driving tests, the unit has proactively coordinated well with Hue College to ensure adequate facilities, vehicles, machinery systems and data.

One of the new features of the driving test organized by the Traffic Police is the implementation of the installation of a database connected to the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security. In addition, the current system of vehicles, facilities, and testing grounds will remain intact for use.

In addition, the traffic police also conduct drug and alcohol tests on students to ensure safety for people and vehicles when participating in the driving test in the diagram and driving on the road.

We have coordinated to organize inspections, supervision and test many times to ensure that no errors occur.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Lien Son, in the coming time, the Traffic Police Department will continue to advise the Board of Directors of Hue City Police on plans and strategies to organize the next driving tests to ensure the schedule and meet the legitimate needs of the people.
