Mr. Hoang Van Diep, Head of Lang Nu village, said that the two families above are Mr. Hoang Van Tien's family and Mr. Hoang Van Duan's family. Talking to Thanh Nien , Mr. Nguyen Van Nhat, Vice Chairman of Bao Yen District People's Committee, said that the local government is continuing to verify and compare information on these cases. When there is specific information, it will be announced immediately. The terrible flood buried 37/167 households with 158/760 people in Lang Nu village. By the end of September 12, 49 people in Lang Nu village were still missing. The number of injured people being treated was 17, 46 people were confirmed safe. Thus, up to this point, the number of people confirmed missing in Lang Nu has decreased to 40. Today, the search will continue. Previously, on the second day of the search, Lao Cai province and Military Region 2 mobilized 650 people to the scene. Military forces, police, militia, and local people cordoned off the area and took shifts to search for the missing victim. 11 officers from Secondary School 24 (Border Guard) and 5 sniffer dogs entered the scene to assist in the search for the victim.
Yesterday afternoon, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation visited the scene of the flash flood that left nearly 100 people dead and missing. The Prime Minister sent his condolences to the families of those who died, went missing, or suffered losses in this flood; at the same time, he asked the search force to change their methods, because the families are very eager to find the missing; the injured must be treated promptly and adequately. The Prime Minister also assigned agencies to survey and plan safe locations, and quickly restore the village, no later than the end of this year. The Prime Minister emphasized that Lao Cai province must request the Central Government to do whatever it needs, so that by December 31, the people still living in Lang Nu must have a safe place. At the same time, the Prime Minister assigned the military and police forces to search for the missing, quickly stabilize the situation for the people, and work with Lao Cai province to restore the village, apply mechanisms in special cases, and handle related issues.
