"The 'soft shield' maintains the ideological foundation from the grassroots."

In the context of digital transformation and the rapid development of social media, protecting the Party's ideological foundation is posing many new demands at the grassroots level. Beyond building happy families, women in the ancestral land are becoming a crucial force in propaganda, shaping public opinion, spreading positive information, and strengthening social trust. From families and residential areas to the online space, women's associations at all levels are gradually building a solid "soft shield," contributing to maintaining political and social stability and strengthening "the people's support" in the new situation.

Part 1: When women become pillars of support that spread confidence

In the context of the rapidly developing cyberspace, where harmful and distorted information is increasingly appearing in sophisticated forms, women in the homeland are playing a crucial role in maintaining ideological stability at the grassroots level. Through responsibility, closeness, and influence within families and communities, the Women's Union at all levels has contributed to strengthening the trust of its members and the people in the leadership of the Party and the administration of the State.

In today's multifaceted information environment, false and distorted information on the internet is increasingly impacting the social life and ideology of the people. Practical experience at the grassroots level shows that women in the ancestral land are becoming a force close to the people, playing a crucial role in disseminating information, guiding awareness, and maintaining stability in each family and residential area. With their gentle yet persistent approach, women's associations at all levels in the province are gradually developing their role as a "soft shield" in protecting the ideological foundation of the Party.

Enhance your "resistance" to harmful and toxic information.

Recently, women's association meetings throughout the province have become more vibrant, with the content of the propaganda not only revolving around building happy families or economic development, but also focusing on skills to identify harmful and toxic information, using social media safely, and the responsibility of members in spreading positive information. This is one of the methods implemented by the Women's Union at all levels in the province to enhance the "resistance" of members against the multifaceted impacts of the digital environment.

The Mai Ha Commune Women's Union has effectively implemented the dissemination and understanding of the resolution, contributing to strengthening members' confidence in the Party's leadership.

The province currently has 148 Women's Union branches at the commune and ward levels, with 5,206 sub-branches and over 500,000 members. This is a widespread mass force, directly connected to the lives of the people, and plays an important role in propaganda and mobilization work at the grassroots level.

Right from the beginning of the 2025-2030 term, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union quickly stabilized its organization and reformed its leadership methods towards being closer to the grassroots, clearly defining responsibilities, tasks, timelines, and accountability; while also closely adhering to the resolutions and directives of the Party to concretize them into action programs suitable to the local reality.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Tinh, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, stated: "Protecting the ideological foundation of the Party is not only the responsibility of specialized forces but also needs to start from each family, each residential area, and each member. When women understand, believe in, and spread positive values, that is a crucial foundation for consolidating national unity and maintaining social stability at the grassroots level."

In just the first six months of 2026, the various levels of the Association organized political and ideological activities for over 350,000 members, incorporating content on protecting the Party's ideological foundation and identifying false and hostile information on the internet. Simultaneously, digital transformation in propaganda continued to be promoted. Communication products such as infographics, video clips, and electronic flipbooks with Q&A on resolutions were designed to be concise, visually appealing, and easily accessible. The province currently maintains over 300 active Zalo groups and fanpages, becoming official channels for disseminating information and contributing to shaping public opinion at the grassroots level.

At the grassroots level, the Women's Union of Bang Luan commune flexibly implements propaganda content according to each target group, linking branch meetings with the dissemination of laws, social media skills, and the identification of misinformation. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - President of the Women's Union of Bang Luan commune shared: “Many members were previously careless when accessing information online, but through Union activities, they have learned to filter information, be wary of false information, and proactively remind their children to use social media correctly. We promote the role of core women, especially branch leaders and women's group leaders. When there are issues of public concern, Union officials promptly grasp and guide information, preventing members from being affected by harmful and toxic information.”

Practical experience shows that the political awareness of members is increasingly improving, and their ability to "self-filter" information is positively evolving. Many women have proactively shared official information, examples of good people and good deeds, contributing to spreading positive values in the community.

Building a "fortress" from each family.

If the grassroots level is where propaganda work is directly implemented, then the family is the solid "fortress" in preserving the ideological foundation and positive values of society. Within the family, women play a particularly important role in building a cultured family, encouraging relatives to comply with the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws; and simultaneously educating children to maintain good habits and guide them towards a healthy lifestyle. Therefore, all levels of the Women's Union have identified building happy families and a healthy living environment not only as a central task but also as a crucial solution to protect the Party's ideological foundation from its roots.

Social media is becoming an increasingly familiar part of daily life, offering many benefits such as information updates, learning, economic development, and product promotion. However, it also poses many risks to children and family life if proper guidance is lacking.

Some families are losing their connection because both parents and children are engrossed in their phones. Some parents also lack the skills to guide their children on safe social media use, making children vulnerable to negative content or the risk of online scams and abuse. Therefore, the role of women and mothers in maintaining family happiness and guiding online behavior is increasingly important. In each family, women are the ones who spread positive information, build a civilized environment, and teach their children to verify information before sharing it.

In addition, families are gradually building safe "digital families" by agreeing with their children on reasonable times and methods of using electronic devices, ensuring they do not interfere with their studies and social activities.

Officials of the Women's Union in Bang Luan commune regularly share positive content, contributing to shaping public opinion and protecting the ideological foundation of the Party.

Over the past period, the Women's Union at all levels has extensively implemented models such as "Families with 5 No's, 3 Cleanliness, and 3 Safeties," "Happy Families," "Trusted Addresses in the Community," and "Godmothers - Connecting with Love," focusing on caring for the spiritual well-being, improving parenting skills, and educating children in the digital environment. In many localities, the Union's staff have become an important bridge in resolving family conflicts, supporting vulnerable women, and contributing to protecting children from the risks of violence, abuse, and negative impacts in cyberspace.

Currently, women's association members also participate in the Provincial Steering Committee 35, the Commune/Ward Working Committee 35, etc., contributing to the effective implementation of the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation right from the grassroots level.

In the current context, protecting the Party's ideological foundation is not about grand, distant goals, but begins with everyday actions such as maintaining family happiness, building united residential areas, behaving civilly on social media, and spreading the spirit of sharing in the community.

Through concrete and practical actions, women in the ancestral land are gradually building a solid "soft shield" from the grassroots, contributing to maintaining political and social stability, strengthening the people's trust in the Party, and enhancing the strength of national unity.
