Students at Ca Mau Community College carefully write letters to border guards in the early days of spring.
These letters, though short and simple in wording, contain deep faith, admiration, and affection for the border guards. Each wish for good health, each word of encouragement, is a source of spiritual strength, giving more resolve to the soldiers serving on the maritime border .
Instilling love for the sea and islands in the younger generation.
Each gift is a sincere encouragement, boosting the morale of the officers and soldiers at the Da Bac Border Guard Station, while also demonstrating the tradition of "remembering the source when drinking water" and the close bond between the military and the people, like fish and water. Through this activity, the relationship between the border guard force and the people is further strengthened, creating a solid foundation in the cause of protecting maritime sovereignty.
The students depicted stylized images of border guards on each letter.
According to Ms. Vo Tuyet Ngan, Secretary of the Youth Union of Ca Mau Community College, the activity of writing letters to border guards not only has the meaning of visiting and encouraging them, but also serves as an opportunity to educate students about their love for the homeland's seas and islands, helping them better understand the value of peace today. Through this, students become more fully aware of their responsibilities to their homeland, country, and the profession they are pursuing.
The "Borderland Solidarity" program also carries profound educational significance, contributing to fostering patriotism, a sense of responsibility, and awareness of protecting territorial sovereignty, especially among the younger generation. Through extracurricular activities, union members and students are equipped with additional knowledge about maritime sovereignty, thereby forming a solid foundation of understanding against false and distorted information on the internet.
Besides writing letters, students also get to learn about and gain knowledge regarding the sea and islands of their homeland.
Sharing her feelings after participating in the program, Vu Buu Ngoc Yen, a student from the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, said: “The activity helped me understand more about the territory and sovereignty of our country's seas and islands; thereby fostering gratitude towards the heroes and soldiers who are protecting our seas and islands day and night. More importantly, I am clearly aware of my responsibility in preserving and protecting the marine environment of my homeland.”
We believe that, at the border outpost of Đá Bạc, the heartfelt letters and gifts from students of Cà Mau Community College will become a practical source of encouragement, helping border guards and soldiers to be more confident and determined to continue fulfilling their noble mission, safeguarding every inch of sacred land and sea of the Fatherland, so that the home front can always live in peace and tranquility.
