All retail gasoline stations of Petrolimex Ca Mau Co., Ltd. in the province have completed the conversion to selling E10 gasoline, 10 days ahead of schedule.
Biofuels are currently used in over 60 countries and territories. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, most current vehicle models are compatible with E10 gasoline without affecting the engine or fuel system. Using E10 gasoline also contributes to reducing harmful emissions and protecting the environment.
The people agree and are ready to use it.
Prior to the nationwide transition starting June 1st, gasoline and diesel businesses in Ca Mau province actively prepared the necessary conditions and intensified public awareness campaigns to ensure people understood the benefits and safety of the new fuel.
At many gas stations in An Xuyen and Tan Thanh wards, people are introduced to E10 gasoline by staff when they come to refuel. Although there are still some initial concerns, most consumers have gradually accepted and are ready to use it.
Mr. Le Van Thoang, from Tan Thanh ward, said: "I saw the announcement about E10 gasoline. My main concern is the price; if the price is equivalent to the previous E5 gasoline, people will find it easier to accept."
Mr. Truong Hoang Em, from Tan Thanh ward, shared: "Initially, I had some doubts about the quality, but when I learned that the relevant authorities had thoroughly researched and tested the product before releasing it to the market, I felt reassured using it."
The majority of people have expressed their agreement and willingness to switch to using E10 bioethanol fuel.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, ethanol used to blend E10 gasoline in Vietnam is mainly produced from dried cassava chips, molasses, and agricultural by-products through a fermentation process. Ethanol has a high octane rating, which helps prevent knocking and supports more efficient combustion in engines.
Using E10 gasoline can help reduce harmful emissions such as CO and HC by 20-30% compared to conventional gasoline, contributing to reduced environmental pollution and decreased dependence on fossil fuels.
In the transition to widespread use of E10 gasoline starting June 1st, besides the environmental and clean energy benefits, people also need to proactively check fuel compatibility according to the manufacturer's recommendations, especially for vehicles that have been in use for many years; and maintain regular maintenance to ensure stable and efficient vehicle operation when using E10 bio-gasoline.
