Another case of "easy work, high pay."

Recently, a woman in the province was fortunate enough to be rescued safely from a human trafficking case involving people being trafficked from Myanmar to Vietnam, once again raising the alarm for the public about the deceptive tactics of criminals offering "easy jobs with high salaries."

According to the report, following an introduction from an acquaintance, the female victim (residing in Quang Trung ward, Kon Tum city) agreed to go to Laos to work at a bar with a salary of 15-20 million VND per month. However, contrary to the initial offer, the victim was tricked and sold into a brothel in Myanmar. Fortunately, through professional investigative methods, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Provincial Police, in coordination with a non-governmental organization, successfully rescued the victim and brought her safely back to Vietnam.

The "easy job, high pay" scam is not a new phenomenon in the province. Recalling this time last year, many people, lured by the sweet promises of scammers, crossed the border into Cambodia hoping for "easy work and high pay." In a foreign land, there was no easy work, nor high pay as promised. Their dreams remained unfulfilled, forcing them to risk their lives, attempting to cross the border again to escape and return home. At that time, along with other authorities, the provincial police spoke out, disseminated information, and issued warnings about this issue. Yet, even now, new victims continue to fall into the trap.

In reality, many poor laborers, after going abroad for work through official channels (via state-licensed organizations and units), have found stable employment for the duration of their contracts. Not only have they accumulated capital from legitimate income, but they have also sent money back home to build houses and improve their family's living standards. Importantly, after their contracts end and they return to their hometowns, they have capital to start businesses, develop their family's economy , and even actively support local welfare projects.

Actively keeping pace with international labor market trends, in our province, relevant agencies are also focusing on sending trained workers to work abroad, aiming to improve the effectiveness of labor export and help workers increase their income and stabilize their lives. The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has also advised the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation plan of Plan No. 90-KH/TU dated April 3, 2023, of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee, implementing Directive No. 20-CT/TW dated December 12, 2022, of the Central Party Secretariat on sending Vietnamese workers to work abroad in the new situation. And in the first six months of this year, 19 workers went to work abroad under contract.

Besides licensed companies and organizations, many scammers, driven by profit, paint a rosy picture to lure naive, gullible, and uninformed individuals into working abroad. These scammers create beautiful scenarios, but the reality is quite the opposite. Those who are deceived suffer many negative consequences, and unfortunate incidents occur, further confirming that illegal emigration and working abroad without a licensed organization or individual is never a path to a "promised land."

Everyone wants a stable job to provide for their family. However, don't blindly trust offers and promises of high-paying jobs from people you meet online or have just met. In particular, don't run away from home or leave your house to work without thorough research. If you unfortunately fall into the hands of criminals, you will suffer many consequences, causing worry for your family and making the search and rescue efforts for law enforcement agencies much more difficult.

Many people's dreams of working abroad have been shattered by the lure and deception of criminals promising "easy jobs with high salaries." If you intend to work overseas, you need to thoroughly research relevant information, consult with authorities and family about the destination, specific job duties, expected departure dates, and expected return dates to avoid falling into the hands of human traffickers. There will never be easy jobs requiring little skill but offering "high salaries." Therefore, everyone should be wary of the tricks of human traffickers to avoid paying a very high price for being lured by "easy jobs with high salaries."
