Lam Dong welcomes its 10 millionth visitor in 2024

(Fatherland) - A Vietnam Airlines plane departing from Hanoi, carrying Lam Dong's 10 millionth tourist in 2024, landed at Lien Khuong airport on the morning of December 30.

At around 9:00 a.m., Vietnam Airlines' Airbus A320-272N landed at Lien Khuong airport, marking the event of the 10 millionth tourist to Lam Dong in 2024. Immediately after landing, the crew and passengers on flight VN1573 were welcomed by Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Tran Hong Thai and leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism at the terminal exit.

Among them, Mr. Nguyen Dang Dung, the 10 millionth special guest, was surprised and happy to receive a souvenir from the provincial leaders. Mr. Dung thanked Lam Dong province for caring for tourists, deserving the title of a safe, civilized, and friendly destination. "I myself often travel to Lam Dong for work, I hope the local tourism industry will develop further," said Mr. Dung.

At the ceremony, the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said that welcoming the 10 millionth visitor was a meaningful event, an important milestone, marking the remarkable development of Lam Dong province's tourism industry and demonstrating the hospitality of local people. More specifically, this event took place during the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival, a prominent cultural and tourism event of Lam Dong, which has been attracting a large number of domestic and international visitors.

Mr. Tran Hong Thai affirmed that in the coming time, Lam Dong province will continue to invest in developing tourism infrastructure, improving service quality and diversifying tourism products to meet the increasing needs of tourists.

In 2024, Lam Dong welcomed 10 million tourists (up 15.6% compared to 2023), of which international visitors reached about 600 thousand (up 50%), domestic visitors reached 9.4 million (up 13.9%). In particular, the number of overnight visitors is estimated at 7.6 million (up 13.4%). This result was achieved thanks to the province's effective solutions to attract tourists.

Notably, various tourism promotion and advertising activities have been organized, including major events such as the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival and Golden Tourism Week. These events not only attract tourists but also enhance the image of Da Lat - Lam Dong as a safe, civilized and friendly destination./.
