On July 15, Lam Dong Provincial Police continued to investigate the case of Nguyen Van Nhan, 24 years old, residing in Lac Duong commune, Lam Dong province, using a knife to control a woman in Duc Trong commune.
According to initial information, on the evening of July 14, Duc Trong Commune Police and the Criminal Police Department of Lam Dong Province Police received a report from the people about a subject holding a knife threatening the owner of a grocery store on National Highway 20, Duc Trong Commune. The person being restrained was Ms. TTHT.
The police force quickly arrived, blocked off the area, and used professional measures to approach the subject. At about 20:45 on the same day, the police force successfully controlled and arrested the person who controlled the victim, and safely freed the victim. Through a quick test, the authorities determined that Nguyen Van Nhan tested positive for crystal meth.
According to the initial investigation, in the afternoon of the same day, Nguyen Van Nhan took a taxi from R'Chai 2 village, Duc Trong commune to village 20, then walked along National Highway 20. At about 7:15 p.m., the subject suddenly broke into Ms. T's grocery store, pulled out a knife he had on him, controlled the victim and dragged her inside the house, barricaded himself, and did not allow anyone to approach.
Currently, the case is being investigated by the police to clarify and handle the subject according to the provisions of law.
