Authorities are stepping up inspections and efforts to combat counterfeit and pirated goods.

Increase warnings about violations in the digital environment.

Da Lat's specialty products are being counterfeited, their packaging and trademarks are being used illegally, digital content is being copied, and fake goods are being sold on e-commerce platforms… These acts of intellectual property infringement are becoming increasingly common in business and consumer activities.

While intellectual property infringement was previously commonly seen in the form of counterfeit goods in traditional stores, nowadays, with the development of e-commerce and social media, infringing activities are becoming increasingly sophisticated.

According to the Lam Dong Department of Industry and Trade, in the context of international integration and the strong development of e-commerce, the infringement of intellectual property rights is becoming increasingly complex, directly affecting the business environment, consumer rights, and the reputation of local products.

Authorities have focused inspections on high-risk product groups such as coffee, tea, processed agricultural products, fertilizers, cosmetics, consumer goods, and goods sold on e-commerce platforms.

Products must have labels and QR codes in accordance with regulations to protect consumers.

In reality, violations are not limited to the trading of counterfeit and imitation goods, but also include infringements of industrial designs, geographical indications, and the use of misleading trademarks.

This is a noteworthy issue for Lam Dong province, which boasts numerous agricultural products, specialties, tourism, and services associated with the reputation of Da Lat and its local brands.

A representative of a specialty product manufacturer in Da Lat stated that the company has invested many years in building its brand, developing products, packaging, and distribution system. However, the prevalence of counterfeit and imitation goods, using similar names and images, especially on e-commerce platforms and social media, is causing significant difficulties for their business operations.

This reality shows that protecting intellectual property rights is no longer just a legal matter, but is directly linked to the livelihoods of businesses, consumer rights, and the value of local brands. When genuine products are challenged by counterfeit goods, not only do legitimate businesses suffer, but the business environment is also affected.

Based on that request, the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposes that the People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones; Lam Dong Newspaper, Radio and Television; and other media agencies in the area strengthen propaganda on preventing and combating acts of intellectual property infringement.

To help people understand intellectual property correctly.

According to Ms. Khuc Thi Thoi, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, the dissemination of information on intellectual property rights is being implemented starting from the grassroots level.

The People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones are requested to direct the grassroots information system to strengthen the dissemination of legal regulations on intellectual property; the harmful effects of producing and trading counterfeit goods, copyright infringement, and other acts of intellectual property infringement.

This is especially necessary given that many citizens, small businesses, online sellers, or digital content creators are not fully aware of the line between legitimate exploitation and infringement.

Many people unintentionally use images, music, videos, or content belonging to others without permission, or sell products bearing counterfeit trademarks without fully understanding the legal consequences.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests intensified dissemination of information through local radio systems, electronic portals, social networks, visual activities, and community events to raise awareness and responsibility among citizens, business households, and enterprises in complying with intellectual property laws.

In addition, localities need to coordinate with relevant agencies to promptly detect, report, and handle violations; and encourage people to participate in reporting acts of intellectual property infringement in accordance with the law.

This content is also integrated into activities promoting political tasks and socio-economic development at the local level.

From the beginning of 2026 to the present, the provincial authorities have detected and penalized 19 violations, with fines totaling 337.5 million VND; the value of the confiscated goods is over 89.3 million VND.

The main offenses include: trading and displaying for sale counterfeit goods bearing trademarks or geographical indications; and using signs that infringe on trademark rights on signs and business transaction documents.

Lam Dong province is cracking down on intellectual property and trademark violations.

In addition, media outlets are requested to strengthen the dissemination of legal regulations on copyright, related rights, and industrial property rights; and to warn against common violations in the online environment and in commercial and service activities such as: unauthorized copying and use of works, radio and television programs, films, music, etc.

Ultimately, protecting intellectual property rights means protecting creativity and fairness in the market. For Lam Dong province – where many distinctive products are building their reputation on quality, brand, and regional prestige – preventing counterfeit goods, imitations, and copyright infringement becomes even more urgent.
