Lam Dong: Searching for drowning boy all afternoon

Discovering his friend drowning, a friend jumped into the lake to save him but failed.

On the morning of August 9, Pham Doan Bao N. (residing in village 4, Tuy Duc commune, Lam Dong province) went to the field to pick corn.

At around 11am, N. and a friend went down to the pond near the cornfield to bathe. At this time, another friend was waiting on the shore.

While bathing in deep water, N. drowned. Seeing his friend struggling, his friend standing on the shore jumped in to save him but was unsuccessful.

Immediately afterwards, people nearby discovered the incident and notified local authorities to assist in the search.

According to a quick report from Tuy Duc Commune People's Committee, at about 1:00 p.m. the same day, authorities found N.'s body in the lake.
