People of Dam Pao, Da Don commune preserve traditional weaving, combined with community tourism services |
Lam Ha is located at an altitude of 800 - 1,000 m, has a cool sub-temperate climate, abundant water resources and a rich natural ecosystem. With a total area of over 93,000 hectares, most of which is fertile red basalt soil, the locality is one of the large-scale agricultural production areas, suitable for growing long-term crops, vegetables and flowers and developing livestock. These conditions not only create advantages in agriculture, but also open up the direction for the development of eco-tourism and experiences associated with clean and sustainable agricultural production.
Dam Pao village (Da Don commune) is a typical example of community tourism associated with preserving traditional craft villages. The brocade weaving craft of the Cil people here was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee in 2012 and is being learned and practiced by the younger generation alongside artisans who are preserving the techniques of weaving from wild cotton and dyeing yarn with natural materials. The craft village not only produces more than 5,000 products each year but also welcomes over 2,000 domestic and international visitors to experience the indigenous culture in an authentic way. Community cohesion, especially the role of village elders and prestigious people, is the key factor in preserving the living cultural space in the locality.
The open space overlooking the lake at Lavela, Phuc Tho commune is a resort destination combining outdoor coffee and culinary experiences. |
In parallel, Lam Ha has developed many new models combining resorts and agriculture, of which Lavela Eco-Village in Phuc Tho commune is a highlight. Taking advantage of the water surface of Phuc Tho lake, which is more than 70 hectares wide, Lavela combines coffee business, accommodation, outdoor parties and nature experience activities. The open space between the lake and green hills has helped Lavela attract 1,000 - 1,500 visitors per day during the holidays, becoming a favorite destination for tourists who love nature and peaceful atmosphere. This model shows the great potential of agricultural tourism combined with ecology, an effective direction that is being replicated locally.
Only 18 km from Da Lat, Chuon Chuon Tourist Area - Coffee & Bistro is another prominent destination. With an area of over 15 hectares, surrounded by pine forests, tea hills and coffee, this place impresses with its diverse landscape, from Chuon Chuon Lake, Infinity Lake to sunny flower hill and Vong Canh tower overlooking the whole mountain and forest.
