On the evening of October 14, rapper OSAD held an event to launch his debut album titled O_O in Ho Chi Minh City. He performed 10 new songs from the album on stage. Notably, producer onionn. made a rare appearance as a rapper in some performances.

The event had guests: My My, Will, Phao, Lyhan, GiGi Huong Giang, Emma, Hoang Ton, Do Hoang Duong...

Collaboration with the producer who made music for Son Tung M-TP

OSAD was asked about the pressure of collaborating with a producer who has had success with big names like Son Tung M-TP and MONO. OSAD replied: "When working with onionn., I was a bit hesitant at first because I didn't know his personality, interests or musical perspective. But I was hesitant not because I was afraid of the fact that onionn. had collaborated with many big names."

OSAD believes that each person is a unique individual, with different characteristics, personalities, and abilities. He is confident in what he has and believes that it is very unique to him.

"When you listen to the 15 songs in this album, will you be reminded of someone else, or will you see that it is OSAD's color?" - he asked the audience.

Producer onionn. added: "Not only with OSAD's album but also with other artists' products, every opportunity to work is a completely new experience, unlike any project I've ever done before."

OSAD: 'I'm very normal, nothing special'

With the album name O_O (read as O shift minus O), OSAD evokes the memories of the 9X generation when using "O_O" to express surprised expressions in chat applications. At the same time, the two letters "O" are also the first letters of the stage names OSAD and onionn.

The album has 15 songs. The first half is about a mischievous, humorous and carefree guy. The second half is about contemplations about life. The songs include: The smoldering person, Visiting relatives, Getting on the train, Advertising program, People say (feat My My), Play (feat Hanh), Do (feat Hanh), Keep (feat Hanh)... "Hanh" is how OSAD calls onionn.

The album is diverse in musical genres, from house, hip hop, EDM to vinahouse or Vietnamese folk, combining modern, trendy sounds with traditional instruments.

OSAD confided: "I know a lot of people don't appreciate me and see nothing special about me. Onion and I both see ourselves as very ordinary, nothing special. I want to make this album to prove that special things can be created by ordinary people."

Active in the arts since 2018 with the hit Nguoi am phu , after 7 years OSAD has just released his first album. He said that before he was under pressure and worried, afraid of comments from others. That is what made his music restricted and limited.

The album O_O is a bet for OSAD to step out of his comfort zone. "This time, I think I'm tired of being safe in everything" - he said.

There were times in the past when he made music that didn't turn out as expected. But after each failure, he wanted to bet bigger. He put everything into this album from effort, time to money.
