According to hospital records, Ms. H. was admitted to the hospital at around 10:00 a.m. on April 21 in a conscious and responsive state. Initial tests showed that she had a mild fever (38.7°C) and was 37 weeks and 3 days pregnant with her second child.
At 12:20 p.m. the same day, although the mother was still conscious, the fetal heartbeat was difficult to hear and her urine was red. The hospital quickly ordered an emergency cesarean section with a diagnosis of acute fetal distress.
The baby girl was born at 12:25 in a state of cyanosis, cardiac arrest and no reflexes. Despite 30 minutes of resuscitation by doctors, the newborn did not survive.
The health condition of the pregnant woman H. then rapidly deteriorated. At 1:40 p.m., Lam Dong II Hospital held an inter-hospital consultation with Cho Ray Hospital and Tu Du Hospital (HCMC), and carried out active resuscitation measures, intubation, intravenous fluids, pain relief and hemostasis.
After notifying and receiving the family's consent, the hospital transferred the pregnant woman to Cho Ray Hospital. However, on the way, when she reached Dinh Quan District ( Dong Nai ), Ms. Bui Thi H. fell into critical condition and was urgently transferred to Dinh Quan District Hospital.
Here, doctors tried to resuscitate her for 45 minutes but Ms. H. still did not survive.
