The supplementary exam took place on the afternoon of July 13.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, vice chairman of the examination council of the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City National University Competency Assessment Test, said that in the second round of the competency assessment test organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University, some unexpected technical problems occurred in examination rooms 39 and 42, at examination site 17 - examination cluster 9.
"These incidents have affected the test-taking process of some candidates. To ensure legitimate rights and create fair conditions for affected candidates, Ho Chi Minh City National University has decided to organize additional exams, specifically for these candidates," Mr. Chinh shared.

Two capacity assessment exam incidents due to invigilator error
Previously, according to the report from exam cluster number 9, two incidents occurred, specifically:
At exam room P.42 [08.14], exam site number 17, candidates reported that they were not allowed to hold a pen to do the test in the first period, affecting the test time.
In exam room P.39 [08.14], candidates reported that they were not given scratch paper, causing difficulties in the test taking process.
After reviewing the incident, examination cluster No. 9 requested the relevant invigilators and supervisors to explain.
Verification results showed that in exam room P.42, the cause of the incident was that the exam supervisor misheard the bell, causing the candidates to be late in starting the test.
This comes from subjectivity and errors in professional coordination of exam invigilators, affecting the rights of candidates.
In exam room P.39, the reason was that the exam supervisor did not fully check the equipment and supplies according to the prescribed list, leading to no scratch paper being given to the candidates.
"This error arose from carelessness in the performance of duties by the exam invigilators, and this incident was not reported promptly to the exam council at exam site number 17," the exam council stated.
The examination council has assigned the leaders of examination cluster 9 to contact the affected candidates, and the examination council representative will directly apologize to the candidates and support the candidates to overcome the consequences. However, the examination council has agreed not to add points to these candidates because there is no basis for doing so. The candidates will be given the correct score based on their results.
