Issue advanced programs of 15 specialized subjects

The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued a Circular regulating the Advanced Education Program for specialized subjects in specialized high schools.

The Circular includes the advanced education program of 15 subjects taught at specialized high schools. Specifically:

The advanced education program for specialized subjects is built on the principle of improving from the subject program prescribed in the 2018 General Education Program, not including extended content beyond the subject knowledge content unit, international approach, and continuous innovation according to the world 's approach trends.

The time for teaching advanced education content in specialized subjects is stipulated in the Circular, specifically: literature and math: 70 periods/school year; history, geography, physics, chemistry, biology and informatics: 52 periods/school year; foreign languages: English, German, Russian, French, Chinese, Korean and Japanese: 70 periods/school year.

The Ministry of Education and Training said that the advanced education program in specialized subjects with compulsory content and compulsory elective content accounts for about 20% of the duration of the advanced education program.

Strengthening practical and experimental content for natural science subjects in each topic, promoting the exploitation of information technology and orienting students to specialize in exploiting and using artificial intelligence (AI).

Strengthening requirements for self-study guidance, creative problem-solving skills and focusing on skills aimed at developing students' thinking abilities according to subject specifics.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the advanced program has an academic and specialized orientation, therefore requiring teachers of specialized schools to improve their professional capacity, have broad and deep knowledge of the subject; be proficient in active teaching methods, integrated teaching, scientific research, and develop students' capacity.

At the same time, promote the ability of the team to guide students to carry out learning projects, research, participate in excellent student competitions and international competitions.
