The prominent content line often seen on the personal Facebook page of Mr. Ngo Van Tho in Sub-zone 3, old Bac Kan province (now Na Phac commune, new Thai Nguyen province): "I would like to ask for blankets, old clothes, and necessities for poor students in the highlands of Bac Kan ". For many years, Mr. Tho has been tirelessly bringing donated items and necessities to many schools in remote, mountainous areas.
Mr. Tho works as a passenger car driver. The income from a 16-seat Ford in a difficult mountainous area is not much. However, he is always willing to help people within his ability. In previous years, when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out, Mr. Tho was one of the first drivers to volunteer to contribute to the fight against the epidemic in the locality by driving 12 free trips to pick up and drop off medical staff to fight the epidemic in the southern provinces; transporting necessities to the epidemic area of Bac Giang and picking up and dropping off Covid-19 infected people to quarantine.
After the pandemic passed and life returned to normal, while transporting passengers to the highlands, Mr. Tho witnessed with his own eyes the difficulties, hardships, and deprivation of the children there. He said: "Seeing students in the highlands not having enough food to eat or clothes to wear, I always wondered if I could do anything to help the people and the children?". From September 2023, he began connecting with organizations and philanthropists through social networks and made the first trips carrying old but good quality clothes to charity wardrobes for patients in difficult circumstances at hospitals and medical centers in communes...
In the last days of 2024, in the freezing weather, Mr. Tho drove, loaded, and spent money on fuel to transport warm clothes, shoes, school bags, necessities, etc. to disadvantaged communes and 20 schools. Mr. Tho said: "There were days when the temperature dropped below 5 degrees Celsius, it was both rainy and cold, but when I witnessed the bright smiles of poor students when they had new clothes, new school bags, and meals with meat, all the fatigue disappeared." From September 2023 to now, Mr. Tho has transported 10 charity trips, bringing about 60 tons of clothes and items to people and disadvantaged children.
During his career as a driver traveling to many places, when he learned about difficult circumstances, Mr. Tho always tried to connect, call for and spend his own money to support. In June 2024, when he heard that a landslide had collapsed the house of Mr. Long Son Ha (Hiep Luc commune), killing three people in his family, Mr. Tho mobilized donations of more than 7 million VND. In September 2024, Mr. Tho raised 6.5 million VND to buy rice, instant noodles, milk, cakes, etc. and transported them to help people in Ba Be commune who were flooded. In early 2025, when he heard that Phung Van Su, in Coc Sa village, Na Phac commune, had lost his mother, his father was in poor health, and his circumstances were extremely difficult, Mr. Tho called for and donated 6.3 million VND to help his family. Not only helping in the province, when he learned that people in Ca Thanh commune, Cao Bang province suffered heavy losses due to floods, Mr. Tho donated and transported 20 tons of necessities to support...
Mr. Tho said: “I see that in life there are still many difficult lives. They always need help and encouragement, both spiritually and materially. Therefore, my wish is that everyone should always know how to share and help those who are still in difficult lives, do good deeds, and spread love in the community.”
