Promoting a reading culture in schools.

Our ancestors have long said, "Leaving gold and silver is not as good as leaving books to your children," affirming the significance and value of books. Reading helps people access knowledge, absorb the essence of humanity, and improve and develop themselves. Spreading a reading culture in schools not only helps students understand the meaning and importance of reading but also opens up new horizons.

Over the past five years, the movement to renovate and build open libraries has spread throughout Vinh Phuc province. Thanks to private funding and budget investment, several libraries have been newly built and designed with a scientific and friendly layout. In particular, Lien Minh Primary School in Phuc Yen city has built both a library reading room and a green space library within the school grounds, creating enthusiasm among many students and becoming a cultural highlight in the school's activities. Every day, the school library welcomes dozens of students thanks to its spacious, clean, and beautiful reading space, where students can sit and read books anywhere.

Besides creating green library spaces, open libraries, and modern, friendly reading rooms, Lien Minh Primary School also has reading lessons that teachers dedicate a lot of effort to, creatively developing engaging reading methods to make reading enjoyable for students. These reading lessons not only meet learning objectives but also truly provide students with opportunities to relax and cultivate a love of reading.

It can be affirmed that reading culture plays an extremely important role and brings many benefits, contributing to the development of society. Therefore, maintaining and developing reading culture is an essential requirement in the process of social development, especially in the current context of international integration. It is thought that each school will have different ways of developing reading culture. Each teacher will also have different methods to cultivate a love of books in their students, with the common goal of helping students to love and cherish books – the invaluable treasure of human knowledge.
