Lang Son thoroughly implements the construction of a solid national border defense

On the afternoon of August 25, the Conference to disseminate the plan to implement Conclusion No. 99 of the Politburo on the Project "Building a national border defense, a national border defense posture in a national defense posture, a national defense posture associated with people's security, and people's security posture in border areas" of Lang Son province was held.

Plan No. 111 dated July 4, 2025 of the People's Committee of Lang Son province aims to concretize Decision No. 89 of the Prime Minister promulgating the Plan to implement Conclusion No. 99, dated October 17, 2024 of the Politburo in accordance with the actual situation of the locality.

The implementation of the plan aims to raise awareness and responsibility of Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, cadres, party members and people of all ethnic groups in Lang Son province, in accordance with the spirit of Resolution No. 44 dated November 24, 2023 of the 13th Party Central Committee on the Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.

Colonel Dao Quoc Thao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Commander of the Border Guard Command of Lang Son province, presented the plan's implementation outline.

The general goal is to maintain independence, sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity and national border security, strengthen international cooperation, improve the effectiveness of defense diplomacy, border diplomacy, public security diplomacy and diplomacy .

At the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan, Political Commissar of the Vietnam Border Guard, assessed that the task of border management and protection in the new situation is increasingly difficult and comprehensive, posing increasingly high new requirements.

He requested that local Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front, departments, branches and organizations continue to pay attention and closely coordinate with the Border Guard to mobilize the combined strength of the entire political system and the entire population to participate in border protection.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, requested all levels, sectors, communes, wards, especially the provincial Border Guard force to continue to thoroughly grasp and widely propagate the contents of the plan in conjunction with Resolution No. 33 of the Politburo on the National Border Protection Strategy.

Accordingly, Lang Son province clearly defines the responsibilities of each agency, unit, and locality in organizing the implementation of the plan.

The leader must set an example, directly direct and take full responsibility for the progress and quality of implementation in his/her agency, unit and locality. At the same time, in the implementation, it is necessary to proactively arrange, mobilize and effectively use financial, human and material resources to serve the task of building a national border defense; promote socio-economic development associated with ensuring national defense and security, and build a comprehensively strong border area.

He emphasized that Lang Son province will continue to fully promote the core and specialized role of the provincial Border Guard in managing and protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security.

Currently, the regional and world situation continues to have many complex and unpredictable developments. The work of protecting national sovereignty and border security poses higher and more comprehensive requirements.

All levels, sectors and localities in the province need to urgently concretize the plan of the People's Committee of Lang Son province into specific programs and action plans, suitable to the characteristics and situation of each sector and locality.

From there, strengthen the inspection, supervision, preliminary and final review of the implementation of the Plan to build a national border defense, thereby creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere, spreading the spirit of responsibility, contributing to the successful completion of border defense tasks in the new situation.
