"Listen" - the voice of the old poets

“Lang” is a collection of poems jointly published by a group of authors, Pham Vu, Pham Vinh, Nguyen Mong Sinh, Tran Si Thu - released on the occasion of the full moon of January, the year of Giap Thin. All four poets are retired and at an age that is “rare in the past and present”.

Like the confidences in the “Preface”, “Lang” is partly a portrait, partly a condensation of the love for the homeland, friendship, and poetry of each poet in his life. “Lang” includes nearly 100 poems with the reflections, experiences, thoughts, and deep feelings of the writer... but in the end, all exude the sweet aftertaste of love...

Among them, poet Pham Vu and poet Pham Vinh are also two veteran journalists, whose poems are deeply engraved with experience. Poet Pham Vu - although he was in the army in his youth, the fierceness of war did not prevent the soldier from writing heroic verses, shining with faith... in the poems Uncle Ho's Statue on Truong Son Mountain, Noc Cave... The soul of the soldier of the past still cherishes love, desire and hope for a bright future... Poet Pham Vinh has gentle philosophies of life from grass, flowers, the sound of horse hooves, the wind, the moonlight, laughter... pouring his soul into each verse in Băng khuâng, với ngạn thông, tren dinh Đá Mạch, với song Sơn, giao thua, Chong chan...

Poet Nguyen Mong Sinh and poet Tran Si Thu both did scientific and academic work. If Nguyen Mong Sinh's poems tell peaceful stories about River, Red Sand, Pine Tree by the Lake, Waves and Wind, A Spring Day in the Countryside...; then poet Tran Si Thu has very short poems about historical places, such as Pac Bo Cave, Before the Tran Quoc Tuan Monument, Phong Nha Cave...

This may be the first joint poetry collection of a group of authors in the Dalat - Lam Dong literary and artistic community, so from the preparation stage to the printing and publishing stages, there were many difficulties... which made the time longer than expected. However, as the Preface states, the old poets had the support and encouragement of their peers, such as calligrapher Le Muu who donated the cover lettering, and culturalist Dinh Lan who encouraged the group of authors to publish their poems together...

The old poets also hope that in the near future, there will be many collections of literature and poetry jointly published by other member groups, especially groups of young people; forming a living atmosphere, a style, a new beauty in the literary and artistic life of the brothers and sisters in the Dalat Literature Association..., like Lang - to create beautiful memories of a time when we are living and loving!
