Installing guardrails on Hoai Nhon Expressway

The construction contractor has installed guardrails on the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway through Binh Dinh province, marking a significant milestone in the project's progress.

The Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway has a total length of 70.1km, passing through Binh Dinh province, with a total investment of over 12,401 billion VND. The investor is Project Management Board 85 ( Ministry of Transport ). The project commenced on January 1, 2023, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

In mid-January, at package 12XL of this project, Son Hai Group proceeded with the installation of guardrails along the route, marking an important step forward in the project's progress.

In mid-January, the construction site was bustling with activity. Son Hai Group divided its workforce into three teams, each consisting of 3-10 people, to install guardrails.

In this process, the three-person team leading the way is responsible for installing the guardrail posts. Each post is spaced 2 meters apart. This work requires extremely high precision; even a 1cm deviation will prevent the guardrail panels from being attached, as the spacing between the holes for the mounting screws is pre-designed.

Two workers proceeded to place the piles in position, while one person operated an excavator with a hammer attachment to secure the piles, ensuring sufficient depth.

The remaining teams, with 5-10 workers behind, will take on the task of installing the guardrail panels onto the posts already secured by the previous team. Then, they will attach bolts to connect the guardrail panels together and secure them to the posts. The work is assigned smoothly and efficiently.

The flexible guardrails used on the highway project are corrugated steel guardrails.

According to Son Hai Group, this type of guardrail was imported from China. Currently, out of the 22km of the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway package 12XL that the company is responsible for constructing, they have installed guardrails on 3km. The company is also laying the second layer of asphalt on many sections, striving to complete its work as soon as possible, ahead of schedule.

Project Management Board 85 reports that the cumulative output to date at the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon project has reached over 4,581 billion VND, achieving 60.03% of the contract, 0.03% ahead of the approved schedule.
