Installing guardrails on Hoai Nhon highway

The contractor has installed guardrails on the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway through Binh Dinh province, marking a remarkable progress milestone for this project.

The Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon Expressway has a total route length of 70.1km through Binh Dinh province, with a total investment of more than 12,401 billion VND. The investor is Project Management Board 85 ( Ministry of Transport ). The project started on January 1, 2023 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

In mid-January, at package 12XL of this project, Son Hai Group installed guardrails on the route. Marking an important step in the project's progress.

In mid-January, the working atmosphere at the construction site was urgent. Son Hai Group divided into 3 construction teams to install guardrails, each team had from 3-10 people.

In which, the team of 3 people in front is responsible for driving the guardrail posts. Each guardrail post is 2m apart. This job requires a very high level of precision, even if there is only a 1cm deviation, the guardrail panels cannot be mounted because the distances between the holes for mounting the guardrail screws have been designed with pre-set dimensions.

Two workers set the piles in place, one person operated an excavator with a hammer head to fix the piles, ensuring sufficient depth.

The remaining teams with 5-10 workers behind will take on the task of installing the guardrail panels onto the posts that have been fixed by the previous team. Then, attach the screws to join the guardrail panels together and fix them to the posts. The work is assigned rhythmically and effectively.

Flexible guardrails used on highway projects are corrugated iron guardrails.

According to Son Hai Group, this type of guardrail is imported from China. Currently, in the 22km that the unit is undertaking construction of the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon Expressway 12XL, the unit has installed guardrails for 3km. This unit is also carrying out the second layer of asphalt paving in many sections, striving to complete its part of the work as soon as possible, ahead of schedule.

Project Management Board 85, cumulative output to date at Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon project has reached more than 4,581 billion VND, reaching 60.03% of the contract, 0.03% faster than the approved schedule.
