Deal with it decisively
With many new regulations, along with increased penalties for some violations, the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety and Decree 168 have brought about positive effects, contributing to raising people's awareness of complying with regulations when participating in traffic. In particular, the Ministry of Public Security 's drastic implementation of the contents of Decree 168 has contributed to restoring order in traffic, building the habit of obeying the law among each citizen and business. Thanks to that, many previously common violations such as drinking alcohol, speeding, running red lights, swerving, driving in the wrong direction, etc. have decreased significantly compared to the same period.
At the same time, the Department of Transport (now the Department of Construction) together with the Provincial Police and localities resolutely reviewed and completely resolved the existing problems and shortcomings in the traffic light system, traffic signs and other shortcomings on the roads; thereby contributing to creating a more suitable and convenient traffic infrastructure system for people to travel.
According to the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, in the first quarter of 2025, there were 4,760 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 2,615 people; injuring 3,186 people. Compared to the same period in 2024, traffic accidents decreased by 1,833 cases, a rate of 27.8%; decreased by 215 deaths, a rate of 7.6%; decreased by 2,003 injuries, a rate of 38.6%. In the province, there were 54 traffic accidents, killing 37 people, injuring 40 people, causing property damage of about 445 million VND; decreased by 22 cases, a rate of 28.9%; decreased by 7 deaths, a rate of 15.9%; decreased by 11 injuries, a rate of 21.6% compared to the same period in 2024.
Lieutenant Colonel Vo Hung Tuong, Head of the Traffic Police Department, Provincial Police, said: As soon as the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety and Decree 168 took effect, the Traffic Police Department coordinated with other forces to increase patrols and handle violations resolutely, "no forbidden zones, no exceptions". After a period of implementation, it can be seen that the number of violations of traffic order and safety has decreased significantly; people's awareness of compliance has been increasingly improved. In the first quarter of 2025, traffic accidents were controlled, decreasing in all three aspects compared to the same period in 2024.
Strengthen inspection and supervision
According to the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, although the traffic order and safety situation is basically under control, it is not really sustainable. Serious and extremely serious traffic accidents still occur in the province. Through analysis, one of the main causes of traffic accidents is the poor awareness of compliance with traffic order and safety regulations of a number of traffic participants; the situation of drivers violating speed, driving in the wrong part of the road, lane, alcohol concentration, drug concentration... still occurs.
To achieve the goal of reducing traffic accidents deeply and sustainably, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee requires sectors and localities to continue to seriously and effectively implement the plans and directives of the Government and the province on ensuring order and traffic safety. The Provincial Traffic Safety Committee especially emphasizes the role of propaganda and education on knowledge and skills of safe traffic participation to raise awareness of self-compliance with the law among traffic participants, and persistently build a traffic culture among the entire population.

To improve the effectiveness of ensuring traffic order and safety in the coming time, it is recommended that departments, branches and localities promote propaganda work, build traffic culture; strengthen inspection, supervision and strictly handle violations.

The Department of Construction closely coordinates with localities to increase investment and develop traffic infrastructure; promptly address black spots and potential traffic accident spots. The traffic police force needs to improve its capacity, increase the application of science and technology, effectively exploit command centers, traffic surveillance camera systems; exploit data from journey monitoring devices, data from devices recording driver images for commercial transport vehicles to improve the effectiveness of management of order and traffic safety.
