Le Duy Khanh - the pride of Thanh Hoa province on the international stage.
Le Duy Khanh was born into a family that highly values education and the spirit of striving for excellence. His father works in the electrical industry, his mother is a manager at Thanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital, and his older brother is studying in France on a student exchange program. His parents' dedication to their work and his brother's thirst for knowledge have become the driving force behind his pursuit of his passion for science and his aspiration to reach greater intellectual arenas.
From his middle school years, Duy Khánh showed outstanding talent in Physics, consistently winning second prize at the provincial level in both 8th and 9th grades. In the 2024-2025 entrance exam for 10th grade, he became the runner-up in the Physics specialization at Lam Son High School for Gifted Students.
Entering a school with a long history of teaching and learning achievements in Thanh Hoa province, she quickly made an impression on teachers and friends with many outstanding accomplishments. In 10th grade, she excelled, winning a Gold Medal and being the top scorer in Physics at the regional selection exam for gifted students from specialized schools in the Northern Coastal and Delta regions. Following that, she went on to win first prize and be the top scorer at the provincial level in the selection exam for the national gifted student team in the 2025-2026 school year.
Notably, starting in 10th grade, she participated in the national excellent student competition and won second prize. In 11th grade, she excelled by winning first prize in Physics nationally and achieving the top position nationwide. Following this success, she was selected for the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) 2026 team, held in South Korea from May 17-25, 2026. This is one of the most competitive regional Olympiads, bringing together 209 contestants from 27 countries and territories. At this major intellectual competition in the continent, she won a prestigious Bronze Medal. Furthermore, she was among the top 5 Vietnamese students to participate in the International Physics Olympiad in Colombia this coming July.
Behind those achievements are months of diligent study and perseverance in tackling difficult math problems. Mr. Nguyen Ba Tu, the teacher who directly coached his team, said: “Le Duy Khanh is a student with excellent self-learning abilities and always remains calm under pressure. He doesn't easily give up on difficult exercises but always perseveres to find a solution until the very end.”

The two students are Le Duy Khanh and Mai Van Khanh.
Mai Van Khanh - a testament to perseverance and a burning desire to conquer knowledge.
Studying in the same 11th-grade specialized physics class at Lam Son High School for Gifted Students and spending months diligently training for the team, Mai Van Khanh also left his own mark with his perseverance and self-study spirit.
This self-discipline was formed very early in my life, growing up in a family where my mother was a translator at Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio and Television, and my father worked at the Investment and Construction Management Board of Irrigation Project 3. Due to the busy nature of my parents' work, from a young age, I was accustomed to independently managing my study time and proactively seeking knowledge.
With a serious and dedicated approach to learning, Mai Van Khanh has gradually proven himself through numerous gifted student selection exams. From junior high school onwards, he has won many high-ranking prizes in Physics at the provincial level. Afterward, he was admitted to the specialized Physics program at Lam Son High School for Gifted Students and continued to nurture his passion for science.
In 2025, Mai Van Khanh won a Gold Medal at the regional selection exam for gifted students from specialized schools in the Northern Coastal and Delta regions. While still in 10th grade, he excelled, winning third prize in the national physics competition. In 11th grade, he won second prize nationally and was selected for the Vietnamese team to participate in the 2026 Asian Physics Olympiad.
At this intellectual competition, which brought together many outstanding students from various countries, she calmly overcame the pressure and brought home a proud Bronze Medal for the Vietnamese team. The achievement she earned is not only a reward for months of persistent effort but also a beautiful memory of her school days at Lam Son High School for the Gifted.
“Seeing my son mature after his journey participating in the 2026 Asian Physics Olympiad, my family feels very happy and proud. The most valuable thing is not just the medal, but also the confidence, courage, and willpower he gained after a long period of preparation. My family is very grateful to Mr. Nguyen Ba Tu, the teacher who directly coached my son's team, the teachers at Lam Son High School for the Gifted, and his classmates in the 11th grade specialized physics class who have always loved and supported him,” shared Ms. Tran Thi Hang, mother of Mai Van Khanh, emotionally.

Behind the glittering medals lies the story of perseverance and the aspiration to conquer knowledge of these two young men from Thanh Hoa. Their accomplishments will be a valuable asset for them to continue nurturing their passion for science and to progress further on their educational and personal development paths.
