On the afternoon of May 25th, the Provincial Steering Committee for the Search, Collection, and Identification of Martyrs' Remains organized the collection of biological samples from 19 remains of martyrs collected in Laos during the 2025-2026 dry season to support the identification and burial process at the Dong Tam International Martyrs' Cemetery.

Colonel Nguyen Xuan Toan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command and a member of the Provincial Steering Committee 515, directed the sample collection session.

During the 2025-2026 dry season, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command's search and recovery team searched for, exhumed, and collected 19 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Hua Phan province (Laos). This activity was part of the "500-day campaign to intensify the search, recovery, and identification of the remains of fallen soldiers."

Before sampling, the personnel were briefed on the plan and instructed on the methods and procedures. The entire biological sampling process was conducted strictly in accordance with regulations to ensure accuracy and avoid errors or mistakes.

During the meeting, the Steering Committee, along with representatives from the Policy Department and the Political Department of Military Region 4, directly monitored and inspected the task implementation process, and requested the specialized departments to continue reviewing the technical aspects to ensure absolute safety during execution.

After completing the sampling process, the Provincial Military Command signed a handover document for 19 remains of fallen soldiers to the Department of Internal Affairs for identification and burial according to regulations.
