Candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the Provincial Martyrs Cemetery and Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery

On the evening of July 26, at the Provincial Martyrs Cemetery and Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery, a candle lighting ceremony took place to pay tribute to heroic martyrs on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025).

At the Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery, the Standing Committee of Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth Union coordinated with the Fatherland Front Youth Union, Central organizations, National Assembly Youth Union, Hanoi National University Youth Union, and Minh Xuan Ward Party Committee to organize a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs.

Attending the program were comrades: Ha Trung Kien, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Dang Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee; Ngo Van Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Central Fatherland Front Party Committee, Central mass organizations; leaders of departments and agencies assisting the Central Fatherland Front Party Committee, Central mass organizations; leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors; leaders of Minh Xuan ward; representatives of relatives of martyrs' families and 200 union members and youths.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, delegates and members of the Youth Union respectfully offered incense, laid wreaths and observed a moment of silence to commemorate and express their infinite gratitude to the heroic martyrs who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

In recent times, the movement of "Repaying gratitude" and "Drinking water, remembering its source" has been actively responded to by Tuyen Quang youth. On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the Youth Union, Associations at all levels and youths in the province have registered to undertake thousands of valuable youth projects and tasks to join hands and contribute to taking care of the material and spiritual life of policy families and people with meritorious services...

In particular, the candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs is a meaningful activity organized by the youth of Tuyen Quang province every year on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day. This is an opportunity for the youth union members and the people to deeply express their gratitude to the heroic sacrifices and great contributions of the heroic martyrs to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. From there, it further motivates the young generation to strive to study, practice, work and labor, contributing to the development of the locality.

On this occasion, the units presented 50 gifts to relatives of war invalids and martyrs in the province.

Also on July 25 and 26, youth unions across the province simultaneously held candle lighting ceremonies to pay tribute to heroic martyrs, expressing gratitude to the previous generation.

At Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery, Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth Union, the Youth Union of the People's Public Security of the Ministry of Public Security, and Tuyen Quang Provincial Public Security Youth Union jointly organized a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs.

The program was attended by comrades: Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union; Major General Ngo Hoai Thu, Deputy Director of the Department of Political Work; leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery is the resting place of nearly 2,000 martyrs in a mass grave. In a solemn atmosphere, before the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh and the spirit of heroic martyrs, delegates and youth union members offered flowers, incense, and lit candles to express their respect and infinite gratitude to the heroic martyrs who did not spare their blood and bones, heroically sacrificed with the spirit of "Determination to die for the Fatherland, determination to live" for the independence and freedom of the nation.

Tuyen Quang Youth Union and the People's Public Security Youth Union of the Ministry of Public Security promise to continue to inherit and write the glorious pages of history of the nation; vow to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; constantly strive, improve morality and talent, and contribute to building the homeland to be increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.

The candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs is an activity to promote the moral tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude" among union members and young people; educate revolutionary traditions, patriotism, national pride and arouse the responsibility of young people in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

On this occasion, the delegation presented gifts to war invalids, sick soldiers, families of policy beneficiaries, people with revolutionary contributions, teachers and students in difficult circumstances with a total value of 325 million VND.
