Tottenham entered the match with a strong determination to win. A victory over Leeds would give them a four-point lead over West Ham, virtually guaranteeing their survival in the Premier League with only two rounds remaining.
The home team came close to securing the win when Mathys Tel scored the opening goal for Tottenham in the 50th minute. However, Tottenham failed to protect their lead, conceding a penalty in the 74th minute when Dominic Calvert-Lewin converted.
With this draw, Tottenham are temporarily in 17th place with 38 points. They are only two points ahead of West Ham, who are in 18th place. This makes their fight for survival even more intense.
In their remaining two matches, Tottenham will face Chelsea and Everton respectively. Their chances of securing six points from these two games are considered very slim. As for West Ham, Newcastle and Leeds are their opponents for the rest of the season.
These two matches carry a lot of risk for West Ham, as both Newcastle and Leeds will not find it easy to take all three points.
According to Opta's supercomputer, West Ham's chances of relegation are as high as 81.30%, while Tottenham's chances of playing in the Championship are only 18.70%.
