To ensure the safety of the dike system, the Department of Dike Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control requests the Department of Agriculture and Environment of provinces and cities to direct relevant agencies and units to urgently deploy plans to protect key dike points according to the 4-on-the-spot principle; prepare forces, materials, vehicles, machinery and equipment for dike protection.

Organize forces and seriously carry out patrolling and guarding to protect dikes in accordance with the provisions of Circular No. 01/2009/TT-BNN dated January 6, 2009 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ) on guidance on patrolling and guarding to protect dikes during flood season.

Check and review dike projects that have had incidents but have not been handled, repaired or are under construction and immediately deploy safety measures.

Closely monitor the development of flood levels on river banks and the situation of dikes, promptly report dike incidents to the Department of Dike Management and Disaster Prevention and Control for coordination and direction.
