Pep Guardiola's team is considered the strongest in the world , and naturally, they are rated much higher by experts in this match. However, given the nature of the biggest club final, anything can happen. Inter Milan has also prepared very thoroughly for this weekend night.

Man City has a huge opportunity to achieve a great milestone.

Founded very early on, in 1880, and despite winning the English league title twice in the 20th century, for most of its history, Man City has been a relatively obscure name on the European football map.

Things really changed when they were taken over by Arab owners in 2008. With abundant financial investment and the right strategies, Man City gradually became a force in English football and quickly won titles within a few years.

In the summer of 2016, the Etihad Stadium team secured the most successful signing in their history: bringing in manager Pep Guardiola.

The former Barcelona coach has transformed Man City into one of the world's most aesthetically pleasing and effective attacking teams.

Pep has dominated the Premier League with 5 titles in the last 6 seasons. However, he has never led Man City to the top of Europe.

But this season is being seen as the strongest the blue team has ever been. They made a spectacular late surge to win the Champions League three rounds early.

Last weekend, they beat Manchester United to convincingly win the FA Cup, having conceded only one goal throughout the entire tournament.

Now it's time for Man City to head to the Champions League final to conquer the historic treble, a feat only achieved by Manchester United in England in 1999.

To reach their current position, Manchester City fans haven't forgotten the heartbreaks they've endured in this competition. These include disappointing defeats against Tottenham in 2019, Lyon in 2020, Chelsea in 2021, and Real Madrid last year.

But this year their fans are more confident than ever, as their beloved team has grown significantly in both skill and composure on this stage.

In the knockout rounds, Man City faced a tough bracket, having to confront some of the biggest teams in Champions League history: Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

But Kevin De Bruyne and his teammates easily overcame their opponents, leaving the entire football world in awe. The aggregate scores were 4-1 and 5-1 respectively.

The players are becoming increasingly mature and confident in top-level continental matches. As for manager Pep, after so many years of innovation, he has probably found the perfect formula for Man City with the 3-2-4-1 formation.

This arrangement allows for up to four attacking midfielders to support striker Erling Haaland, instead of the usual three. This is made possible thanks to the presence of two top-class attacking midfielders behind them: John Stones and Rodri.

Currently, Man City's key players are all healthy and ready to play. Now, many people just hope that Pep won't overthink things anymore and will use the same players who helped him reach this final.

With just that, Man City's chances of winning the championship are very high, because Inter is considered not yet on par with Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.

Inter Milan and what we can hope for.

Looking at the overall picture of the Nerazzurri's Serie A season, they were unimpressive, finishing third and conceding 42 goals.

In the Champions League, Inter also had some luck in being drawn into a less challenging bracket, facing opponents of a similar level.

Man City is the ultimate challenge right now, but remember, a final is a one-match affair; there's no second leg to correct mistakes. Therefore, with the right strategy, taking advantage of opportunities, and knowing their strengths and weaknesses, Inter can still pull off a surprise.

Inter have been in excellent form towards the end of the season. Since May, Inter have won 7 out of 8 matches and kept 5 clean sheets.

Their defense is proving to be a solid foundation. In the two semi-final matches against AC Milan, Simone Inzaghi's team won largely thanks to their effective containment of the opponent's attacks and not conceding a single goal.

Another point they need to note is that Man City's strength often diminishes when playing away from the Etihad. Pep Guardiola doesn't create the same level of dominance as he does at home. Proof of this is their recent draws against Munich and Real Madrid away from home.

Most recently, in the FA Cup final at Wembley, although they still controlled possession, their ability to create dangerous opportunities was not as high as usual; Man City's expected goals (xG) was only 1.1 compared to MU's 1.9 (according to Opta statistics).

Inter are capable of setting up a defense that is equal to or even better than MU's. And in attack, they need to be sharper than Erik Ten Hag's team.

Inter fans can place their faith in the duo of Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko. The Argentinian striker has scored a combined 28 goals, his best performance in his five seasons with the Nerazzurri.

Despite being 37 years old, Edin Dzeko has scored 14 goals, including 4 in the Champions League. His experience and impeccable ball-handling skills have made him a more trusted choice than striker Lukaku.

Another point that coach Inzaghi needs to keep in mind is to limit shots from outside the penalty area by Man City, a favorite tactic of the English team recently. That's how Ilkay Gundogan defeated MU, or how Kevin De Bruyne beat goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Will Pep become "immortal" at Man City?

The Spanish strategist can be proud of having created a strong team, considered to be separate from the rest of the football world. Therefore, the balance of power is heavily tilted in their favor in this final battle.

The Champions League trophy is the only missing piece in the collection of manager Pep and Manchester City.

If they succeed, Manchester City in the 2022/2023 season will become one of the greatest teams in the history of world football.

For Inter, they've had a tenacious campaign, knowing their strengths and weaknesses to reach the final after 13 years. Although considered the underdog, if they perform well and maintain their belief, they can still pull off a surprise.

Remember, the most recent upset by a much weaker team in the Champions League was Chelsea in 2012. Their coach was Roberto Di Mateo, also an Italian like Simone Inzaghi.

Before that, there was Liverpool's incredible comeback victory against AC Milan in 2005. Coincidentally, this year's final is also taking place at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.

Will the calls of history repeat themselves, or will the new footballing power of the present prevail?

Let's wait and see.

Predicted lineup

Man City (3-2-4-1): Ederson; Walker, Ruben Dias, Akanji; Rodri, Stones; Grealish, Gundogan, KDB, Silva; Haaland.

Inter (3-5-2): Onana; Darmian, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; L. Martinez, Dzeko
