Despite a narrow 0-1 defeat to Uzbekistan U22 in the second match, the players under acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh showed a determined fighting spirit, created many opportunities, and only lacked a little precision in their final touches.

This afternoon's training session took place in a serious yet relaxed atmosphere. The coaching staff prioritized adjusting the training volume to suit the players' fitness levels and maintain focus before the final match.

Vietnam U22 team is ready to conquer the Panda Cup 2025.
Previously, coach Dinh Hong Vinh affirmed that the match against U22 South Korea – a team possessing a strong physical foundation, speed, and modern playing style – was an important opportunity for U22 Vietnam to further test their strength, accumulate experience, and refine their playing style before entering the final preparation phase for the SEA Games 33 and the 2026 U23 Asian Championship.
The match between Vietnam U22 and South Korea U22 will take place at 2:30 PM today, November 18th (Vietnam time), in Chengdu City (Sichuan Province, China).
An important source of morale for the Vietnam U22 team before this match is the result of the most recent encounter between the two teams.
In March 2025, the Vietnam U22 team made a strong impression by drawing 1-1 with the South Korea U22 team in the CFA Team China tournament organized by the Chinese Football Association.
At that point, Thanh Nhàn opened the scoring in the 52nd minute with a characteristic burst of speed, and it wasn't until the 90+1 minute that Kim Woo-bin equalized for the young South Korean team.
This is proof that, with thorough preparation, the ability to analyze opponents, and a determined fighting spirit, the Vietnam U22 team can absolutely create a surprise in this match.
After two rounds of matches, all four teams in the Panda Cup 2025 – U22 China, U22 Uzbekistan, U22 South Korea, and U22 Vietnam – have earned 3 points each, with one win and one loss each, and U22 Vietnam currently ranked third.
The chances of winning the tournament are evenly split among the four teams and will be decided after the final round of matches today, November 18th.
