The Buddha's relics were invited from the National Museum of India to Vietnam from May 2 to May 21, on the occasion of the United Nations Vesak 2025. This is the first time the Buddha's relics have been invited to Vietnam, thanks to the close coordination between the Vietnamese Government , the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Indian Government and international Buddhist organizations.
It is expected that about 3-4 million Buddhists will come to worship the relics at the pagodas. According to the plan, the Buddha's relics will go through 4 major pagodas in our country including Thanh Tam Pagoda (HCMC), Ba Den Pagoda (Tay Ninh), Quan Su Pagoda ( Hanoi ) and Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ha Nam).
Thanh Tam Pagoda
On May 2, the Buddha's relics were invited from New Delhi, India, by military aircraft C-130J-30, landing at Tan Son Nhat airport at 7:45 a.m. After the welcoming ceremony, the relics were paraded to the Vietnam Buddhist Academy and enshrined at Thanh Tam Pagoda.
The relics will be on display at the pagoda from May 3 to 8, allowing people to visit from 6am to 10pm every day. On May 7, the pagoda will be open for Buddhists to visit until midnight and from 4am to 10am on May 8. The organizers do not charge any fees or accept any offerings, and ask people to keep order and not take photos.

Located in Hamlet 3, Le Minh Xuan Commune, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, Thanh Tam Pagoda, also known as Phat Co Don Pagoda, was established in 2007. The pagoda is located in the campus of Vietnam Buddhist Academy, Campus 2, with solemn architecture and spacious space. The pagoda plays an important role in training monks and nuns and studying Buddhism in Vietnam.
Ba Den Pagoda
At noon on May 8, the relics were escorted from Thanh Tam Pagoda to Ba Den Pagoda, part of the Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area (Ninh Son, Tay Ninh). Buddhists will pay homage to the Buddha's relics from 6 p.m. on May 8 at Ba Den Mountain.
The relics will be displayed at the Buddhist Exhibition Center on top of Ba Den Mountain from May 9-12, welcoming Buddhists to worship from 5am-10pm daily.
Ba Den Pagoda is located on the top of a mountain at an altitude of 900m above sea level. This is one of the most majestic and famous pagodas in Southern Vietnam. The pagoda was built in the 18th century, associated with the legend of Kinh Son Thanh Mau (Ba Den) - a character worshiped for her kindness and always protecting people.

In the center of Linh Son Tien Thach Tu main hall, there is a statue of Trung Ton meditating with Buddhas and Bodhisattvas such as Buddha Shakyamuni, Amitabha Tam Ton, Ngoc Hoang, Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha... On top of Ba Den mountain, there is the world's largest sandstone statue of Maitreya Buddha and a 72m high statue of Tay Bo Da Son Buddha cast from 170 tons of red copper.
The pagoda is located in the Ba Den Mountain tourist area with a convenient cable car system, attracting millions of tourists to visit and worship every year.
Quan Su Pagoda
On the morning of May 13, the Buddha's relics were escorted from Ba Den Pagoda to Hanoi and enshrined at Quan Su Pagoda (73 Quan Su Street, Tran Hung Dao Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi). The pagoda is open to visitors from all over the world to worship the Buddha's relics from May 14-16, from 6am to 9pm.
As one of the ancient pagodas in Hanoi, Quan Su Pagoda was built in the 15th century, under the reign of King Le Thanh Tong. It is currently the headquarters of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the center for organizing national Buddhist activities.

The temple has traditional Northern architecture, the main hall worships Buddha Shakyamuni. The temple grounds are spacious, with a three-door gate, bell tower, green garden... The peaceful space attracts many people to come and worship, especially on holidays of the year.
Tam Chuc Pagoda
On the morning of May 17, Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ba Sao Town, Kim Bang, Ha Nam) welcomed Buddha's relics from Quan Su Pagoda to be enshrined here from May 17-21 for monks, nuns, Buddhists, and tourists to worship.
On the afternoon of May 21, at Tam Chuc Pagoda, a ceremony will take place to pay respects to the Buddha's relics, then the relics will be taken to Noi Bai International Airport to return to India.

Built during the Dinh Dynasty in the 10th century, Tam Chuc Pagoda underwent a major restoration in 2016. This is one of the largest spiritual tourist areas in the world, with a total area of nearly 5,000 hectares. Tam Chuc Pagoda was also the venue for the 2019 Vesak Festival.
