The second round of group stage matches at the 2026 AFC U17 Championship begins with two matches in Group B: China U17 vs. Japan U17 (11 PM on May 9th) and Qatar U17 vs. Indonesia U17 (11:30 PM on May 9th).
Following that are two matches in Group A: U17 Thailand vs. U17 Saudi Arabia (00:00 on May 10) and U17 Myanmar vs. U17 Tajikistan (00:30 on May 10).
All matches are broadcast live on the TV360 system.
Indonesia U17 caused a major surprise by defeating China U17 in their opening match, thus gaining an advantage in the race to the next round. Currently, they are ranked second in Group B, level on 3 points with Japan U17 but behind on goal difference.
If they win against Qatar, the Indonesian team will almost certainly secure a place in the quarter-finals and qualify for the 2026 U17 World Cup.
Meanwhile, the U17 Thailand team is in a more difficult situation after losing to U17 Tajikistan in their first match. If they want to compete for a chance to advance, they must earn points against the host team Saudi Arabia.
The 2026 AFC U17 Championship finals, originally scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia, featured 16 teams divided into 4 groups, playing a single round-robin format. However, North Korea's withdrawal reduced the tournament to 15 teams.
The top two teams in each group qualify for the quarter-finals and also secure a spot in the 2026 U17 World Cup. Additionally, if host nation Qatar advances beyond the group stage, the AFC may award an extra spot to the best-performing third-placed team.
