This activity aims to effectively implement the policy of restructuring the agricultural sector in conjunction with building new rural areas, developing the collective economy , and promoting digital transformation in the agricultural sector of the Capital city.

Applying science and technology and digital transformation to production.
In previous years, agricultural production in many suburban areas of Hanoi was still heavily influenced by traditional thinking. The fragmentation and small-scale nature of farming, along with the "every man for himself" mentality, created invisible barriers that made it difficult for Hanoi's agricultural products to compete in supermarket markets or for export. Meanwhile, the new context demands a new mindset: a strong shift from "quantity" to "value," from "traditional farming" to "green, digital, and circular agriculture"...
To realize that strategic vision, the Hanoi City Cooperative Union has proactively coordinated closely with the Hanoi City Farmers' Association to implement propaganda and training activities, bringing the Party and State's guidelines, policies, and laws on the collective economy to the grassroots level.

At training conferences, awareness campaigns, and dialogues with farmer members, Nguyen Tien Phong, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi City Cooperative Union, emphasized: To improve the productivity, quality, and competitiveness of agricultural products, cooperatives and farmers need to strengthen production linkages, consolidate land, and form concentrated, specialized production areas linked with the application of high technology and digital transformation.
The collaboration between the two units has strongly fostered a cooperative mindset and value chain linkage among farmers. The City Farmers' Association, with its advantage of nearly 370,000 members operating in 2,432 branches, has become an effective "extended arm." Both sides have worked closely with local communities to mobilize, advise, and support farmers in establishing new-style cooperatives and associations operating on the principles of voluntariness, autonomy, and mutual benefit.
Thanks to persistent efforts, by the end of 2025, the collective economy of the capital city will have developed strongly. The entire city currently has 2,912 cooperatives and people's credit funds, of which agricultural cooperatives account for 1,693 units (58.1%). In the period 2020-2025 alone, the city established 702 new cooperatives, attracting more than 617,000 members. Agricultural cooperatives not only play a key role in implementing production planning and applying scientific and technological advancements to approximately 200,000 hectares of cultivated land citywide, but many units have also boldly consolidated large-scale land holdings and applied high technology to bring their products to demanding markets.

According to Pham Hai Hoa, Chairman of the Hanoi City Farmers' Association: To shape a generation of "digital farmers," the Association has collaborated in building and operating the "Digital Capital City Farmers" platform, directly integrated into the iHanoi Digital Citizen system. To date, the system has successfully digitized 97% of member data with 46 standardized information fields.
The City Cooperative Alliance and the City Farmers' Association have also organized hundreds of intensive training courses on livestream sales skills, managing virtual stores on e-commerce platforms, and building and protecting brands for agricultural products in the capital city for their members.
For example, on June 16th, the City Cooperative Union organized a training conference on "Developing online sales channels and e-commerce for cooperatives." Through the training, nearly 200 participants gained useful and practical knowledge, learning how to utilize the online space to create value chains from production to consumption...
Notably, from primarily relying on traders, many agricultural cooperatives and farmers have now proactively participated in digital economic platforms, promoting OCOP products through modern media channels, gradually forming a new class of dynamic, elegant, and responsible farmers.
Developing green, digital, and circular agriculture.
The close coordination between the City Cooperative Union and the City Farmers' Association has been a solid financial support for high-tech collective economic models, with a total capital of 685.7 billion VND from the City Farmers' Support Fund. Thousands of production plans applying digital technology, scientific and technical advancements, and synchronized mechanization have been promptly supported, helping to solve the problem of insufficient investment capital for modern equipment in rural areas.

Ms. Can Thi My Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Thach That Commune Farmers' Association, shared: "The commune's farmers' association members have actively promoted digital transformation and applied science and technology to green production. A prime example is the poultry farming model of farmer Khuat Van Trung in Hoang Xa and Hamlet 2, Thach That Commune, with a scale of 10,000 chickens on an area of nearly 3,000m². They have invested in high technology, applying a silo system for feed storage, automatic feed dispensing, sensor-controlled temperature monitoring in the poultry house, and other equipment to support the care and management of the livestock. The application of technology helps reduce labor, improve efficiency, and better control the farming environment."

For example, the grape cultivation model of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quang in Hamlet 6, Thach That Commune, covers an area of 4.8 hectares and is produced according to VietGAP standards. It utilizes greenhouses, automated irrigation and fertilization, pheromone traps (using biological attractants that mimic natural sexual scents) to control pests and diseases, and includes fruit bagging and sweetness testing before sale. This model helps improve agricultural product quality, reduce costs, and increase competitiveness in the market.
Nguyen Tien Phong, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi City Cooperative Union, also affirmed: The cooperation program between the Cooperative Union and the Hanoi City Farmers' Association will continue to be upgraded and deepened with more decisive steps: Focusing on building Hanoi farmers with knowledge, skills, and digital thinking; effectively promoting the "Digital Hanoi Farmers" platform; replicating models of "Digital Farmers' Association Branches," "Digital Farmers' Association Groups," and "Digital Cooperatives"; supporting members in applying AI, IoT, digital data, production management software, electronic logs, traceability, and e-commerce throughout the entire agricultural value chain; training more than 10,000 members, farmers, and members of cooperatives and associations in digital skills and applying digital technology in production and business; supporting cooperatives and grassroots Farmers' Associations in connecting deeply with modern distribution systems, supermarkets, and e-commerce platforms; Gradually forming a stable product consumption ecosystem, enhancing the value and competitiveness of agricultural products in the capital city.
