The Kerkez deal takes Liverpool's summer spending to more than £200m, following the arrivals of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

A series of "blockbusters" being activated early is an affirmation of the reigning Premier League champion after a period of silence in the transfer market.

Kerkez was one of the most outstanding left-backs in Europe last season. Liverpool recruited him to gradually replace Andy Robertson, who turned 31.

Milos Kerkez moved to Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2023 for a fee of £15.5 million. In two seasons, he made 67 appearances for Bournemouth.

The Hungarian player impressed with his excellent physical strength, tirelessly attacking and defending on the left wing.

Earlier this month, Kerkez's father and agent, Sebastijan, revealed: "We only think about Liverpool so we don't negotiate with other clubs.

All personal terms were quickly settled between the two parties. We just need to sort out a few details but basically everything is done."

Kerkez's arrival could prompt Robertson to leave Anfield, with Atletico Madrid reportedly keen to bring the Scottish defender to the Wanda Metropolitano.
