Liverpool inquire about loaning Mbappe - VnExpress Sports

Liverpool reportedly offered Kylian Mbappé a one-year loan deal after learning that he had rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia.

According to the Mirror (England), Liverpool have made a huge offer for Mbappe. They are willing to pay PSG a large sum of money and agree to let the striker move to Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer.

Previously, Al Hilal had offered a record transfer fee of $330 million to PSG, which the French club agreed to. The Saudi Arabian club also offered him a salary of $775 million a year. But Mbappe refused, insisting on staying in Europe to play.

The 24-year-old striker wants to fulfill his dream of playing for Real Madrid. Real Madrid also tried to bring Mbappe in sooner but lacked the financial resources to meet PSG's asking price of $256 million.

Liverpool believed their offer could satisfy all parties involved in the deal. Mbappe could go to Real Madrid, while PSG would receive a fair sum of money instead of losing their star player for free.

In 2018, before moving to PSG, Mbappe was in negotiations with Liverpool. The French international revealed to the Telegraph last year: "We talked, but not much. I was in negotiations with Liverpool because it's my mother's favorite club. It's a big club. We met them five years ago when I was playing for Monaco."

Real Madrid plays a crucial role in Mbappe's future. PSG believes the 24-year-old star has implicitly agreed to move to the Bernabeu next summer on a free transfer, receiving a large signing bonus. Therefore, after the 2-0 friendly win against La Havre on July 21st, PSG removed Mbappe from their squad for the summer tour of Japan and put him on the transfer market.

Mbappe reportedly responded by declaring his willingness to sit on the bench at PSG during the 2023-2024 season.

Mbappe currently holds the record for scoring 212 goals in 260 matches for PSG. For the French national team, the 24-year-old striker ranks fifth on the scoring list with 40 goals, 14 goals behind leader Olivier Giroud. He has won six Ligue 1 titles, three French Cups, two French League Cups, two French Super Cups, the 2018 World Cup, and the 2021 Nations League.
