Specifically, the northern bank of Duong Van Duong canal recorded 8 landslides with a total length of 112m, depth of 2-3m. The southern bank of 7 Thuoc canal also had 2 landslides with a length of more than 50m, about 3m deep, many sections of the road surface were cracked, creating large gaps due to soil and sand being washed away.

Mr. Le Phuoc Ven, Vice Chairman of Tan Thanh District People's Committee, and specialized units conducted a field survey and requested the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment to promptly come up with a thorough solution to ensure the safety of irrigation works and people's lives in the upcoming flood season.

Previously, Long An province inspected 393 irrigation works throughout the area. Through inspection, 18 works were found to be damaged, mainly in items such as dike surface, dike body, dike toe and regulating culvert.

The Provincial People's Committee has directed localities to urgently maintain and spread stone on the dike surface, reinforce landslide areas and repair the sewer system, ensuring the irrigation system operates stably during this year's rainy season.
