On January 3rd, information from the Long An Provincial Department of Industry and Trade indicated that measures have been implemented to temporarily stockpile essential goods to stabilize the market for the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday in 2025.
Accordingly, to create an abundant supply of goods at stable and reasonable prices for the market from the last months of 2024 until the Lunar New Year of the Snake, the Department of Industry and Trade has requested supermarkets, convenience store chains, businesses, and production and trading establishments in the province to have plans to temporarily stockpile essential goods, with diverse designs and quantities to meet the shopping needs of the people.
Businesses will participate in the temporary stockpiling of goods worth approximately 1.259 billion VND, an increase of 36 billion VND compared to the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon.
Essential items will be temporarily stockpiled, such as rice, sugar, MSG, cooking oil, instant noodles, alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, fresh food, vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, eggs, milk, sausages, ham, cakes, and sweets,...
Long An also has more than 3,200 general merchandise stores, contributing to an increased supply of goods to meet people's shopping needs during the Tet holiday.
The Department also suggested that businesses strengthen their retail and distribution networks to rural areas and industrial clusters through online sales to serve the shopping needs of people in remote areas and workers, contributing to increased access to goods for those with middle and low incomes.
Long An Petroleum Company will also regularly maintain approximately 14,100 cubic meters of petroleum products, with a total value of about 277 billion VND, to serve the people.
The Long An Power Company has also been instructed by the Department to regularly inspect power lines and loads, ensure sufficient spare parts and equipment, and organize on-call duty to ensure timely response in case of incidents during the Tet holiday. At the same time, they are to closely monitor fire safety measures in public places, residential areas, and entertainment venues to prevent electrical fires and explosions.
